Dropped by to visit NEX shopping popular restaurant opposite Isetan called THE SHIP. The moment you are inside there, really feel like going into a Ship cabinet. 👍 The place dining seats arrange from 2-8 person neatly and with a lot of flags. The adorable decoration look like you are onboard. Started to order our lunch set with their signature chicken combo set and chicken chop. When combo dish finally arrived, you can immediately judge how warm and fresh with those chicken, lamb , prawns and vegetables. Those sauce was slightly less. Hope they can have those topup will be perfect. Chicken chop have a special taste compared other restaurant as they include oats which is the secret recipe inside your mouth. Both main course will served with butter bread and coffee. Can be better but overall is value for money. 👍👍👍 continue reading

Located on the Isetan section of NEX, is the Ship, it is a family run restaurant with a long and successful history. The minute you walk in, you sense that you've walked into some kind of old, pirate ship. The decor looks old and rugged, but at the same time, the dining area was clean and pleasant. The table setting was casual and yet rustic. The choice of table cloths and dollies just suggested that we had walked back a few decades in time.Their menus indicate that they have a wide range of western food and even hot plate steak.  Their weekday lunch menu changes daily, so check out what's on the lunch special before heading down, or if you can choose the day that has the special you want and then enjoy yourself! They have their own signature steak brown sauce. The potato and leek soup was delightful as it was very tasty, and yet no sense of MSG used. There were half slices of potatoes that weren't mushy and were at the bottom of the soup bowl. The iced tea was refreshing and yet not overly sweet. Just right!I loved the crispy skin of this grilled salmon and it wasn't oily. The salmon itself was tasty but paired with the japanese curry sauce. It was over the top for me. It hit the spot! The vegetables were also good and I was too full to finish up the extremely tasty but slightly salty sauteed potatoes. To end off the lunch special, you get a slice of their home made fruit cake. For $17.90++ you definitely get a lot for your money's worth, I was so full and yet content with my meal continue reading

The first time I visited The Ship restaurant was at Shaw Centre; that branch has since been "gone" with the building undergoing major revamp. Quite recently, I visited The Ship for dinner again, this time at Nex @ Serangoon, also with the same girls - Jacinta* and Amelia*.This is a very interesting western restaurant with adorable interior decor resembling a ship literally - life buoys, steering wheel etc. Even the table settings are ship-like, making one feel like they're dining onboard a cruise or ferry. The branch at Shaw Centre was even more authentic, with pale wood floorings if I recall correctly. Whether for family dinners or friends gathering, this restaurant provides the perfect atmosphere. The Black Pepper Steak served on a sizzling hot pan was tender and succulent, and the meat was sufficiently marinated to taste good. Like any grilled steaks on hotplate, this piping hot delicacy was mouthful after mouthful of chewy goodness.Lastly, the Seafood Plate consisting of prawns, scallops and dish, all grilled to tasty perfection , okay, maybe a tad dry, but still good enough overall. This was my first time at The Ship. My friends and i were walking around nex deciding a place to eat when we saw this restaurant with their student promo of various main course meal @$8.50++ ! Decided to try it as it was quite affordable too The interior of the restaurant really do look like a ship and the ambience was great too I ordered a Pork chop meal. It came with a starter (Bun and mushroom soup) , pork chop and a dessert (scoop of ice cream). The mushroom soup was not bad, quite creamy and smooth too. The pork chop was really delicious! The meat was tender and not tough, the sauce was great too The carrots were boiled and really soft. Their fries i feel were better than average, crispy For the ice cream, there were three flavours to choose from, chocolate, strawberry and mint, Being a chocolate lover, i chose chocolate ice cream Overall, the lunch was $10 with gst and service charge. Really affordable and with their high quality of food, i recommend this place for western food! Of course great ambience too continue reading

This year xmas eve I spent with my family and we decided to go nearby our house for just a cozy dinner. Glad that we managed to get a table for 6 even though we made the reservation only just monday amid the festive period. We ordered a mixture of the ongoing Lobster promotion & The Christmas Eve set, which both came with a soup, choice of main course, dessert and coffee/tea. Pricing wise was $40.90 and $36.90 respectively. Considered quite economical, especially during the festive period where most restaurants will introduce their Xmas set at quite hefty pricing. Prawn Bisque SoupSuper "gao" soup, totally can taste the prawn! Christmas Combination (made up of turkey, ham with cranberry sauce)This was okay although I think the presentation should be much better. However for those who are lazy... dun worry, all the meat were sliced nicely for you! Haha1/2 lobster with ribeye steak I'm surprised of how the meaty is the lobster and the ribeye steak was good! Sticky Date PuddingOoo.. we liked this dessert. It was served warm with caramel sauce (i think) with just enuff sweetness to end the dinner. continue reading
