Timbre

Timbre is a good place to chill in town, located just next to SMU. Music is good and not too loud for a group of friends to relax at night. Cocktails are good as well, and reasonably priced compared to other places. Staff were also very friendly and efficient. However, it might get a little too crowded on a friday night or weekends, but still for the music and ambience it's a good choice over many other places.

Timbre is a place not easy to find, but is walkable from city hall mrt. Good to have someone who know how to walk there to go there together haha. There is live band there, nice music to listen to while having meal or drink there. went there quite a few times. Sometimes to eat their food special for their smoked duck pizza. usually will have that half a pizza, the other half will be Hawaiian. Sometimes there to drink to chill. Good place to go there once awhile.

I've been to Timbre @ Substation a couple of times. Generally, I felt that the place is a cool place to hang out and chill.

What i like most about Timbre is the great selection of food and how tasty all of it are. The must tries are their smoked duck thin crust pizza and the buffalo wings (it's abit spicy) however extremely sumptuous. The pizzas are affordable, it's $18 for a whole pizza enough for 2 person. On top of that, you can top up $4 extra for a two flavour half half pizza so you get to enjoy the delicious flavour at one. The place is usually packed especially during the weekends. To get a sit, it'll be better to make a reservation before hand (at least a week before) or you can go down earlier to have a seat. My friends and I (being really kiasu) went down to the restaurant at 6:30 pm to get seats and our food earlier.

If you're those type who is looking for peace and serenity during night time, try to avoid this place as the place is usually crowded and noisy at night. There are also live bands performance, great place to chill out and have a drink too!

I must admit. This is my first time visiting Timbre. I have always wanted to visit Timbre@ old school for its rustic ambiance hence I was really disappointed when it was closed for good. Luckily i have the opportunity to head down to this timbre outlet which was totally different from what I have expected initially- it has an open-air concept and hidden behind a secluded corner, with close vicinity to SMU Biz school and the Peranakan Museum. The downside of such a geographical location is the higher probability of getting a mosquito bite- especially after a heavy downpour and you tend to feel a bit more sticky and perspire slightly more there. All in all, I quite like the ambiance- a nice place to chill after work and have a drink or two of which we spotted quite a number of patrons dropping by for the drinks.The acclaimed and MUST TRY roasted duck pizza! My girlfriends absolutely love the fried popiah skin toppings and for me I love the combination of the roasted duck and the crunchy toppings. The crust of the pizza is just at the right crunchiness and in comparison to the Skinny Pizza Chain, I prefer this variation of thin crust pizza. The meat is also not too tough and to me, it is tender and juicy. The Buffalo Chicken pizza- another must-try! For me, I am an onion lover and I love how the onions and the mozzarella cheese and the chicken complemented each other so well! It's really a mouth-watering experience for me! The chicken masala pasta- I find that it is a tad too chessy for me but other than that, I like the taste of the herbs and the chicken and the pasta!I would strongly recommend to come with a group of friends so that you can share and not feel the pinch since it can be quite expensive, a pizza can cost around 20 bucks! For me, my friends and I shared these 2 pizzas and a plate of pasta and we were so full that we nearly could not finish everything!

This is a half and half pizza with one side buffalo chicken and the other side roasted duck. The roasted duck was a bit hard and was a bit too salty but the buffalo chicken was more soft and addictive which made me go mouthful after mouthful. The pizza dough was crispy at the sides and soft in the middle. The fillings were just the right amount for the size of the pizza dough.

The pizza here is slightly different from the usual pizzas which we had from other western restaurants. The version here is much thicker and the texture is almost like eating a piece of crunchy biscuit or cracker. The slices of green and red capsicums certainly as make this pizza very fragrant and also the sliced mushroom makes the pizza even more fragrant too. The portion is quite generous and good to serve at least three to four adults. Great for party and gatherings.

Timbre may have one of the best mayonise fries in town. The french fries are deep fried till crispy and presented on a basket. With a few dash of chilli flakes topped on it to add that little spiceness to it. The fun part about this finger foods is that the mayonise sauce is directly topped on the crispy french fries instead of present to us on a separate sauce bowl. The mayonise eventually melt to the pipping hot french fries which make the fries slightly soggy but still remain that nice fragrant of it. Nice to munch it as a snack or as a side dish for your main course.

This place is a great place to chill out with friends and beer! Do come early, because queues tend to form outside to get seats inside. So what food is good to go with your pint of Erdinger? Timbre is well known for its Roasted Duck Pizza and it's really good. It's a thin crusted pizza with copious sprinkling of crackers, mozzarella cheese and duck slices, dressed in a nice soya sauce. The flavours combine very well and it's big enough to share amongst 3-4 people! Each Roasted duck pizza costs $20.

But i was wrong,it is simply nice. I like the taste,after we swallow in,the mouth and throat wil feel a bit hot and bitter,it is nice. A nice place to chill out with your friends but remember to reserve your seats in advance

What a night it was, great music from The Goodfellas, and great company with friends! It was set to be another great evening, till hunger pushed us to order the incredible Timbre Buffalo Wings.First, the fried aroma hits you hard, tempting you to go beyond just gawking at its beautiful exterior. Next, the crispy exterior, accompanied with the unique peanut and chili sauce, creates a mix of flavors that instantly stimulates the tastebuds. With just a tinge of spiciness to tease the tongue, it is well-suited for anyone. Though sinful, it makes a great snack with music and friends.

I came to dine in at Timbre to catch up with my friends, it was my first time there. I like the ambience of the restaurant, there are like christmas lights at the roof, so nice old cosy music. I and my friends ordered fries for starters, however, it took around half an hour for it to be served! How long does it take to fry fries??? Moverover, my friends arrived there earlier around 6pm, there we one about three tables that were occupied. For our main course we shared pizza, the tops and the tomato base sauce were very nice jus that the pizza crust is very thin, about a few mm thick! Feels a bit miserable to eat. But for those who like extremely thin and crispy crust pizza, you would most likely love it.

the crowd at timbre was so scary! there were so many people. luckily my friends went earlier and saved us some seats. as we already had dinner, we ordered some sides to go alone with our drinks. i ordered the onion rings. i love the onion rings here. it is fried till crispy and golden brown. dip with tar tar sauce. it is indeed delicious. i really enjoy the snacks there! the music and atmosphere there is great too!

My friends and I simply love timbre! It's like one of the best chill out places to enjoy good food, god company and even goo MUSIC! Love their bands, they may not be super duper ultra good, but the entire setting and ambience coupled with their beautifully played music just make your dinner so much more colourful. Absolutely love the roast duck pizza! It's like a MUST-HAVE whenever we go timbre! Whoooo! I cant wait to go timbre soon!

I really enjoy weekends and last Friday saw me over at Timbre @ Substation. Based on ambience and setting, this isn't my most preferred outlet but since my friends chose this place, I followed.

I had my dinner here followed by drinks. Instead of Timbre's favorite pizzas, I ordered fish and chips since I wanted a new taste. Though being breaded fish and chips, it still turned out amazingly good! I suppose the highlight of the dish was also the Louisiana French fries, I loved the seasoning sprinkled on them.
