Cupcakes made with Love <3
Smile 1 day ago

Bought two cupcakes and requested the lady to put it in this boxes to maintain the icing on the cupcakes. ;)
The left cupcake is red velvet with a cute heart icing on top.
The right cupcake is chocolate vanilla.

It is my first time trying twelve cupcake though it had been in the market for quite some time. The icing on top is rather thick and sweet to my liking. I guess their popularity rose due to their design. I have tasted much nicer cupcakes.

Cupcake delights
Just OK 6 days ago

As most cupcake-lovers would know by now, the famous celebrity couple Jaime Teo and Daniel Ong has brought on a wave of cupcake-craze in recent periods. As usual, I am one of those people who are slow to catch up on fads or trends and hence the latest attempt to try out their cupcakes. Of course I had to try flavours such as red velvet. It was simply oozing with goodness! For a person who don't really fancy too much sweetness and cream, it was really nice. Though it doesn't come cheap (given its size), it could serve to be a nice little dessert while you are chilling with your friends while shopping around.

we bought red velvet,chocolate,vanilla.

Made me a cupcake convert
Smile 2013-06-07

See more reviews at http://thehungrybunnie.blogspot.com

Cupcakes have never really been my thing. I'll admit, I've always preferred the savoury to the sweet. But I do like the occasional sweet treat. And I like my cheesecakes, lava cakes, and ice-cream. But, curiously enough, I've never really been too fond of cupcakes. Until my colleague brought a dozen of those sweet little things in their signature fuchsia box to the office. She's totally made me a convert.

Having gotten a taste of their yummy cupcakes, I got the Hubs to buy half a dozen of their cupcakes to sample further. I can totally understand why Twelve Cupcakes are doing so well. Their cupcakes are dense, compact and moist in texture, with a rich but balanced sweetness. One of the best cupcakes, if not the best, around. Priced at $3 per cupcake, it may be considered a little pricey, but that small little thing does fill you up. Your sweet tooth can be satiated with just one cupcake.

From the classics menu, where you get these flavours everyday, the Chocolate Chocolate ($3 each but $17 if you order half a dozen) with chocolate cream cheese on chocolate cupcake is my faves. Love those crunchy chocolate balls.

My other fave, the PB Chocolate ($3) is a peanut butter and chocolate laced topping on a chocolate cupcake.

Twelve Cupcakes
Smile 2013-06-02

Twelve cupcake by celebrity artiste Jamie Teo created a cupcake craze and had expanded quickly to many convenient shopping centres. Yay, finally have the chance to try it when I went bugis!

I've ordered 3 to make it fit into a box, with strawberry chocolate and chocolate chocolate flavor. The box mentioned that it's best to consume that day orelse keep it refrigerated! These are classic flavors at $3/each. For special flavors that are changed every day (e.g. Lychee Martini, salted caramel), it goes at an additional 50cents, at $3.50.

Look at the shiny and thick spread of chocolate cream! I can tell you it's definitely the cream that makes the difference! The sponge cake below the cream is soft and nice too, but other nomal bakeries can easily achieve that too e.g. breadtalk.

For people out there who find chocolate a tad too sweet, try the strawberry chocolate then! It's nice too, but for a sweet lover like myself, I prefer the chocolate chocolate flavor.

For public holidays and festive seasons, be sure to head down early to avoid disappointment as it is normally wipe out before 7pm! For other normal days, go after 8pm and you might find yourself getting a bargain at buy 2 get 1 free, but the flavors might not be such a spread then.

Specials
Just OK 2013-05-27

I had been a big fan of twelve cupcakes for a while now. I will always buy their cuppies for my friend's birthday.

These few days, they had these 3 flavors as specials, Salted Caramel, Coffee Walnut & Mudslide. I bought them to try.

I was most excited about salted caramel but was pretty disappointed. The cake was nice and soft and moist as usual. But the salted and the caramel flavor seems lacking.

Coffee Walnut was not too bad, what surprised me was that there were bits of walnut in the cake as you eat them.

Mudslide was chocolaty and awesome. Their chocolate cakes never fails!

red velvet
Smile 2013-05-22

Everyone is talking about their red velvet cupcake, so out of curiosity, I bought home to munch and see what's so good about it. At the first bite, the cake is really moist and blend so well with the cream cheese. Love their icing topping as they are not stingy with the amount of cream cheese icing given. It is surprisingly smooth too. Though it is selling at $3 each (special flavor at $3.50), I thought it is worth the bucks for the good quality.

Pretty Special
Smile 2013-05-02

The special for that day was Raspberry Chocolate. I also bought Red Velvet and Chocolate Chocolate.

I wanted to try it since I got to know of it and of course, the "star effect" did "affect" (influence) me.

The service of the pretty teenage girls was also very friendly, apparently, they were well-trained.

My favourite among the three has to be Raspberry Chocolate. The cake itself is not sweet, instead, it has the bitterness of dark chocolate. So when one eats the cream together with the cake, it's perfect because it won't taste too sweet until you get sick.

Red Velvet may be their "frontcake", however, it's my least favourite among the three. I guess I was just scared of the red colouring, haha.

Chocolate Chocolate is really good too even though I'd always choose strawberry cakes over chocolate cakes any day.

The "star effect" not only affected me, it also affected the price. $3 for one cupcake. OMG. Buy only during special occasions, I guess. Too bad.

Not a fan of cupcakes
Just OK 2013-04-05

Have always wondered what's the hype about cupcakes? Would say that I have tried more cupcakes than the average person, but still haven't grown a liking for them. Decided to buy some when I passed by the nicely decorated store. Would not recommend the strawberry one, taste is too artificial for my liking. The chocolate ones are your average-tasting chocolate cupcakes. Peanut butter one was rich, but still did not stand out from the rest. Coffee one was alright, but nothing special.

Pretty to look at.....
Just OK 2013-04-02

Visited the Bugis Junction outlet of twelve cupcakes last week... To be honest I never really caught on with the cupcake craze in Singapore. Girls go ga-ga over these sweet creations topped with sinful piped cream and gimmicky decorations... Never understood why.

I've personally tried the oreo cupcake, rainbow cupcake (which isn't really rainbow save for the sprinkles (-.-")), chocolatechocolate cupcake and the red velvet cupcake. Out of all, I've only re-eaten the red velvet one. The oreo cupcake is not bad, but I found the oreo cream quite oily and disgusting. I'd rather they just made a cookies and cream cupcake and forgo the cream, but then it wouldn't be called a cupcake would it?
The rainbow cupcake was a normal cupcake with rainbow sprinkles on top of its (butter?) cream, and I didn't really like it. It didn't suit my taste at all and the cream was too thick and rich.
The chocolatechocolate cupcake would perhaps be the safest best out of all (apart from red velvet) because I've not met anyone who didn't like it (sure I've met crazy fans of it, but those that weren't cupcake fans were rather neutral towards this flavour). It's very chocolatey, topped with yet, even more chocolate cream.
What I perhaps enjoyed (or rather, went down much better) would be the red velvet cupcake. Red velvet is all the rage now and this cupcake fuels this insane fad! The red velvet cupcake came with cream cheese piped on top of it with a little cute red heart (that was admittedly a nice touch).

A box of 6: red velvet cupcakes!

I say I felt the red velvet cupcake was the best because it didn't taste too sweet, and the cream cheese actually went quite well with the cupcake. Don't get me wrong, all their cupcakes are fluffy and delicious, but I didn't like it when it was too sweet/rich. The red velvet felt like it wasn't as cloying or sweet as the others although I felt that they could have used slightly less cream cheese (I'm not a huge fan of cream, sorry.). Most of their cupcakes are priced at $3 each, and the special flavours are slightly more. Honestly it's a bit pricey, given that it's just a small cupcake, topped with loads of cream and packaged in a visually aesthetic way.

12 cupcakes are super pretty! They are all well decorated and very attractive looking making them perfect as a gift! The cupcakes are soft and fluffy and moist while the frosting is smooth and absolutely delicious. I really like the red velvet cupcakes with the strikingly red colored cupcakes contrasting with the smooth fluffy cream cheese frosting. slightly tangy yet sweet enough! The only thing is that they are quite expensive considering they are so small in size!

Pretty cupcakes
Smile 2013-03-05

One thing I love about cupcakes is just how pretty they look. However, a baker friend of mine revealed that a cupcake contains more sugar than your recommended daily intake.

Nevertheless, I still enjoy a red velvet cupcake once in awhile. How can anyone resist how awesome they look?

The cream cheese topping on the red velvet cupcake is by far my favourite. Also, chocolate chocolate flavour is satisfying as well. The chocolate cream cheese on top is delicious as well smile

Twelve Cupcakes - Red Velvet
Just OK 2013-02-14

Another cupcake treat from my other friend for my birthday today. Have never tried twelve cupcakes before and personally think it is over-rated and overpriced. As a person who bakes, I would say the presentation was the selling point of the cupcake and the taste of the cupcakes are just normal and not impactful. Not a fan of cream cheese and wouldn't say this one managed to change my preference, but a not bad choice of topping for a red velvet cupcake. Personally would not return to buy one for myself as I am not a fan of eating baked goods, more of a fan of making them!

yummiest cupcakes around
Smile 2013-01-31

I decided to indulge in something sinful so I headed to twelve cupcakes and got myself a cupcake. I love the cupcakes from twelve cupcake. It is very soft and moist. The cupcake itself is very fragrant. They also take a lot of effort to do the topping. The visual effect makes it so appealing and hard to resist! Their toppings is not too sweet as well. They also have a lovely container for individual cupcakes bought. Really impressed with them!

^Pretty and Delicious Twelve Cupcakes^31/01/2013
Smile 2013-01-31

Cupcakes for dessert. It looked so attractive and we decided to buy it. Twelve Cakes at Bugis Junction, business was always good, luckily the queue length still not too long when we were there.

   Three pieces in a box

Personally I like the Red Velvet, the middle one. The heart shape on top was so cute, fluffy vanilla cream cheese on the cupcake. It was one of the best-seller for Twelve Cupcakes.

   Chocolate Chocolate

I picked this one, its name was interesting called Chocolate Chocolate. Chocolate cream cheese on a moist chocolate cupcake, everyone will like it, especially for Chocolate lovers.
