My 2nd time here and my daughter and I had:1) Mushroom Soup - only ok... Can definitely skip this the next time2) Garlic Bread - lightly seasoned but surprisingly nice3) Coleslaw - very nice with raw onion slices for that extra zing!4) Chicken Cutlet - the batter is nicely seasoned and light. Can taste the chicken inside. Serving size is decent too 5) Black Pepper Sirloin - the slice is decent size and beautifully seasoned. It's served with their house special - potato ball. It's a deep-fried mash potato if you would have it. Nice side! Will return... continue reading

Why would you go to a Steakhouse and not order Steak? With that mentality, I just had to order their Steak. It was served on the sizzling pan, but I felt that it could be hotter. The cream soup wasn't worth it as it tasted like something that was instant/Campbell, but the bread on the side was served warm. The highlight, however, is their potatoes. The potatoes are like mashed potatoes, marinated with some cheese, then coated with some flour and fried again. When I go back next, I know the potatoes are going to be what I must order continue reading

This western food stall is hidden away in a small coffee shop under a HDB block. You will definitely miss it if you don’t know about its existence. But there is always a long queue during peak meal hours. The good thing is that you can call up to make your order before heading down to dine in or takeaway. The cutlet fried rice is worth trying. It has fried rice, chicken cutlet and a sunny side up egg. I like their cutlet as it is not too fatty or oily. The proportion of meat and bread crumbs is just nice. It cost only $6.50. continue reading

Craving for chicken wings lately. I knew UNO served one of the best chicken around, when you order the wings it will come in 2 pieces, the wing and drum. It's fried to golden brown which I love, as with most fried food they will drain the oil of the wings before serving you. When it was served I got to wait for 8-10 minutes before attempting to eat it cos it will be burning hot. continue reading

Had craving for western food. Since I'm at Toa Payoh might as well succumbed to my craving since I was there. Had been to this place for countless times. Each time it's a nice experience there. Especially when the boss is around.Decided to have mixed grill for dinner since they have a little of everything. In the plate it consists of pork chop, chicken chop, bacon, ham, sausage, a piece of garlic bread, coleslaw, fries and a sunny side up. The portion is big and shared among 2 person will be just nice. While you are there you can order their coleslaw, the vegetables are nice to munch very crunchy and the mayonnaise blends very well. The potato ball is one of their specialities, it's mashed up and formed into a ball and fried. They serve it pipping hot. continue reading
