Full VeganBurg review here: http://ivanteh-runningman.blogspot.sg/2014/11/veganburg.htmlVeganBurg is a unique concept fast food brand, offering a 100% plant based, vegetarian / vegan menu, with a focus on wholesome burgers made with natural, nutritious ingredients. At VeganBurg, you'll find their food to be surprisingly light, healthy, yet tasty!I love the clean, almost natural looking ambience at VeganBurg. Committed to a sustainable environment due to their vegan lifestyle, this 'saving the Earth' theme is evident throughout the VeganBurg outlets. Theme is Industrial Safari, with tables made from recycled materials, faux grass chairs, colour hues of green, white, and browns. Offset by the ever present Harley Davidson motorcycle showpiece, the place exudes a calming zen.VeganBurg is semi self-service. Ordering, payment, and collection is done over the counter like other fast food franchises, but staff are friendly and chatty. They are also very knowledgable on the VeganBurg menu, able to offer recommendations and describe simply what goes into the making of their wonderfully wholesome food.VeganBurg dispels the myth that healthy food tastes plain. Their food isn't just healthy and 100% vegetarian / plant based, but tastes great and looks pretty as well! I find that dining at VeganBurg leaves me feeling satisfied, I like the natural, delicious tasting food, that leaves you feeling clean and light. Portions are nicely sized for 1 person, but prices are higher than a typical fast food franchise, budget about SGD $22 per person for a meal here.At VeganBurg, their artisinal organic ciabatta burger buns have a crisp exterior, and a soft, fluffy interior. It's made from fiber fueled wholemeal grains including walnuts, quinoa, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds. Their succulent patties are made from organically grown soy beans / soy, and mushrooms. And because VeganBurg is completely plant based with their food, without any meat, dairy, or eggs, free of any animal content, their food is halal friendly, even though they aren't halal certified.I love that they offer healthy side dishes! The Rockin' Broccoli (SGD $3.90) features crisp, tender broccoli, simply prepared and wholesome. The Seaweed Fries (SGD $3.90) are medium cut with a generous potato flavour, and sprinkled with 100% organic seaweed flakes, tastes clean and healthy, nothing like seaweed fries from other fast food brands! The Hawaiian Teriyaki Burger (SGD $6.90) features a thick pineapple ring packed with vitamin C, on a tasty pan grilled soy patty, garnished with lettuce, and drizzled with sweet teriyaki plum sauce. The Creamy Shrooms Burger (SGD $7.90) features a crisp pan grilled soy patty, sitting on fresh lettuce, topped with lightly sauteed button mushrooms, and a trans-fat free home made cream sauce. During Halloween, they offered the option to swap to a Charcoal infused ciabatta burger bun. continue reading

My first impression towards burger was definitely an unhealthy meaty meal, yet I discovered VeganBurg and it proved my incorrect thinking. Having full vegan menu, there was no single complain for its cuisines. The restaurant was really simple, atmosphere was relaxed comfy. The space occupied was not too huge, seats and tables arranged properly.Let’s make it became a meal, I ordered more valuable side kick to accomplish my craving. Luscious pan-grilled patty accompanied along pineapple ring, drizzle of Teriyaki sauce was awesome to make taste alive entirely. Squeezed between layer, fragrance was burst out aromatic. Overall was in correct ratio of saltiness, sweetness and sourness. Multigrain bun was chewy, not hard-biting. Nothing beats, Vegan Franks and Handmade Spinach pops were crunchy delightful. Chilled beverages were served along, refreshing and cooling. Price for Burger alone was $6.90, paid extra $3.90 for set. Well, I totally satisfied the meal and will revisit it again. continue reading

While I love my greens, I have never thought of going vegan or vegetarian because I always think plant foods will not be able to satisfy me as they don’t give me the same texture and bite like meat. Recently, I started on my exercise regimen (yes, finally after being a couch potato for too long!) and decided to incorporate a few low-carb, vegan or vegetarian meals into my weekly cooking just to cut down my overall intake of carbs and meat. Two weeks into it and I feel good!So for yesterday’s day out with the husband, I suggested that we go for a vegan burger at The Grandstand since I saw VeganBurg there the last time and was quite fascinated with the menu. He didn’t look too keen but was willing to give it a try anyway.VeganBurg is the world’s first vegan burger fast food joint. Currently it is only available in Singapore but people in Los Angeles could soon enjoy its burgers when it hits the US shores this October. Something to look forward to for those residing in LA!These are little balls of mashed potato and spinach, deep fried to a lovely golden brown colour. The exterior is hot and crispy while the middle is moist and fluffy. Absolutely delicious! The oil these are fried in is fresh so there is no old oil smell at all plus these balls don’t feel greasy too. I like the topping of alfalfa sprouts that has a nice crunch to it. Two thumbs up!Similar to a Mushroom Swiss, this burger consists of a crispy-fried vegan patty topped with fresh button mushrooms and a dairy-free cream sauce, peppers and lettuce in an organic whole wheat ciabatta bun. It claims to be rich in copper (to keep nerves, blood vessels, immune system and bones healthy) and potassium (to help maintain blood pressure and aid digestion). There’s no reason not to eat this. It just looks and tastes so wholesome and nutritious.Though the patty is made of soy and mushrooms, it does have an interesting, firm bite to it. The patty itself doesn’t have much seasoning. In fact, the creamy sauce doesn’t have much flavour too. Overall, this burger is quite bland but the good thing is that you can taste the freshness and original flavours of the ingredients. I like the bun best as it is soft and moist. This burger is supposed to be high in anti-oxidants and it consists of a char-grilled vegan patty with satay sauce, lettuce and onions and is a complete opposite of the Creamy Shrooms as this sauce is very rich, nutty and flavoursome with spices. The only thing that I don’t enjoy is the pungent, raw onion that kind of spoil the entire burger for me but overall, I still prefer this burger to the shrooms one because of the satay sauce. Also, as the patty is grilled here instead of fried, it tastes more moist and juicy.Hot and crispy fries sprinkled with 100% organic seaweed flakes. Somehow I can’t taste much seaweed flavour in this (or perhaps there’s too little flakes?) but I do like that these fries are not salty, soggy or greasy. For full review and pictures, please go to http://www.springtomorrow.com/2014/02/23/veganburg-the-grandstand-organic-vegan-guilt-free-fast-food/ continue reading

Is it considered fast food? That's a tricky question!Tried VeganBurg for the first time. Personally, i think that the taste is not too bad considering that there is no meat in the burger. It is quite amazing the "meat" tasted good, the taste is definitely not compromise. On top of that, it's a healthier choice compared to other fast food branches since there's no processed meat involved. The drinks are also healthier.Service is fast! And the ambience is good, kid-friendly with a place for kids to play and draw. Best thing is there's student discounts on weekdays! However, more pricey than normal fast food. continue reading

Veganburg is a fast-food restaurant that sells vegan food. Even if you don't like vegetarian food, you should step out of your comfort zone and give this a try at least once!We went on a weekday evening and there were not many patrons. I love how clean and green the place looks - grass patches, white walls, tables and chairs. They even have a play area for the kids which is really cute and thoughtful! Spinach Pops $3.90More spinach could be added into the pop since they are called Spinach Pops. The potato balls were a tad dry and there was nothing special about the taste too so I would not recommend you to get this.Meals come with a burger, side and a drink.Creamy Shrooms meal $11.80I chose broccolis as my side and they were served cold. They were very lightly seasoned with pepper which gave it a wee bit of taste but was still very bland. However, Wendy could not taste any extra flavour in the broccoli at all. I wish they could be more generous with the spread of creamy shrooms as they were rather stingy with it. I love the creamy shrooms sauce but it was just too little for me to fully enjoy it. The patty however was good. It was slightly crisp and the sauce did not make it soggy. Cracked mayo meal $9.80Same burger, same patty. Just different sauce. The fries were a disappointment. They were not crispy and were served cold. There was very little seaweed seasoning and the taste of the seaweed was almost non-existent. Oh, did I mention that my friend thought it was real meat that she was eating? continue reading
