Located in Old Airport Road Hawker Centre is this newly opened Thai dessert stall from the same owners of Foon's that offers us authentic Thai wan ton noodles just a few stalls down on the same stretch of shops. They have a few options for their coconut husks. Thai Mango Sticky Rice which was sold out at 820pm on a saturday night. I walked by to their stall around 8pm and was told they only had 6 coconut husks left and once their coconuts are sold out, they close for the night! So take note, they can and will close earlier than their official 9pm closing time!Jumbo $5.50 Being greedy I went for the Jumbo which had 3 scoops of ice-cream, I choose 2 coconut and 1 honeydew flavour as they had run out of Mango ice cream. With 5 toppings it's easy to get creative and I was delighted to see chendol and ruby! The ruby had a very chewy exterior and a small chestnut bit on the inside. Their chendol was also very soft and not sweet at all.Their coconut ice cream has a very "lemak" taste to it, which it very smooth and creamy. It is truly a very refreshing dessert. Their ice cream is said to be made with buttermilk with helps bring out the vibrant flavours. Their honeydew ice cream also had a "wow" factor as it was just as smooth and creamy as the coconut but with a tad sweeter aftertaste. All in all, a hidden gem in the old airport road hawker centre. I like they they offer thai milk tea ice cream but at $2.50 per scoop, it's pretty pricey. continue reading
