A tiny little Japanese restaurant that is located just in front of the lift at the 5th floor. There is only about 15 counter seats available. So everyone could have a good view of the chef making sushi in front of you while eating. Only cash payment is accepted here. There is no GST or service charge.Looking around at what everyone was having, I decided to go with the crowd and had one of the lunch set.Lunch Donburi Set C : Kaisen Chirashi Set ($18)It was served with Japanese green tea, miso soup, salad, pickles, and cut watermelon slices.It was colorful in presentation. The sashimi was smooth on the texture. The salad was lightly dressed with soyu dressing. Nice ending the simple meal with juicy sweet watermelon.Although the place was packed, it gave a cozy feel. Tea was refilled without asking for. Service was smooth.

Had their nigiri sushi with udon that comes in a set. The udon was served piping hot. Soup base was light-tasting and filled with seaweed. Udon was chewy and had just the right texture. The nigiri sushi was the highlight of this set. Sashimi was very fresh and sushi were made on the spot so there was a bit of waiting time. Tamago was sweet and soft. The portion of rice and sashimi was proportionate. What was really unforgettable was their swordfish sushi. The swordfish had a buttery flavour to it, unlike any that I had ever tasted. It was so amazing, but somehow, the chirashi that i had tried (also had swordfish in it), didn't have any of that buttery goodness. Skip the queue at The Sushi Bar and head over to Wasabi Tei (not the one at the corner) if you have not tried this out yet!

It was the kind of rainy night that my friend and I were unable to decide what to eat. We were wondering around for a really long time at Far East Plaza till the point we were starving and my friend decided to just try this place. We got the Assorted Sushi Set which was beautifully plated and served. I can't remember the price of this but most of the sets are from $15-20. So this may be pricey for its portion but the fish were sooooo fresh! We also got the Salmon Set. The salmon was so freshly grilled it's one of the best I've tried despite its average appearance. Good quality Japanese rice was also used. Overall, this is an authentic Japanese place where customers sit in a rectangular layout facing the chef. It is a memorable experience, a hidden gem at Far East Plaza indeed.

Headed to Wasabi Tei for lunch with my colleagues. It was supposed to open at 1230pm but we waited a long time outside. The chef was taking his time to prepare the food. The good thing was the waitress took our orders in advance.Around 1245pm, it opened and we were ushered in to the counter seats. my chicken order arrived early. it was crispy and filling. and it came with rice and cabbage salad. there was also a seafood appetiser plus drink included. It was a good combination.i was surprised that there was also a watermelon dessert included in the set meal. It was a good meal, but the service was bad.

In this quaint authentic looking Japanese restaurant (super small and only counter seats), I had a nice albeit sightly pricey lunch. I ordered a safe choice - the Chicken Oyako don. Basically it is chicken cooked with egg and onions over rice. They gave a couple slices of pickles and topped with slices of seaweed. The meal comes with miso soup and some veggies with a beancurd like skin. Very tasty meal, not too salty and overall feels quite healthy. Recommended!
