See my full reviews & photos at = http://chefquak.com/2015/08/25/now-my-favourite-laksa-weiyi-唯一辣沙-tanglin-halt-food-centre-on-25aug2015/went to sheng shiong @ commonwealth mrt to get some items for tomorrow’s dinner. walked by tanglin halt food centre & saw the queue at weiyi laksa 唯一辣沙 was just about 7pax. still it took about 15mins. my last post on weiyi laksa 唯一辣沙 was on 24.3.2015. after trying a few places like teck hin @ food loft clementi which is sometimes inconsistent (i had a very bad one once recently), decided that this is still the best. the sungei road laksa is good of course but it is somewhat different, not as substantial & savoury. there are many combinations, i chose no.6 (chicken, cockles, fried beancurd) & S$5 option. cockles were big & plump and quite many, chicken meat was sweet, very nice & the bean curd & laksa gravy was excellent. yum yum! (as a korean pal said on facebook 배고파요^^=i am hungry) ^^ continue reading

Ever since I have given the 'Laksa' over here a try, the thought of the delicious 'Laksa' have been floating inside my mind. If anyone wants me to recommend good 'Laksa', I would strongly encourage them to give this a try. Here's my order that day, a bowl of Laksa with Chicken, Cockles, Fried Bean Curd and Prawns. So what makes this 'Laksa' so special? For a start, the soup itself is superb. It comes with a nice blend of sweet coconut milk and a strong taste of prawns. On top of that, the 'Laksa' over here isn't too spicy too. Even though I have gone for the thicker 'Rice Vermicelli', but texture of the 'Rice Vermicelli' doesn't ended up to be too soggy. In fact, it have absorb the greatness from the 'Laksa' gravy, which makes it pretty Yummy. Even though the fresh 'Cockles', slices of 'Chicken', and 'Prawns' are pretty delicious, they can't hold a finger against the cooked crispy 'Fried Bean Curd' that submerged into the 'Laksa' gravy itself and yet, it still can sustain the crispy texture which makes it super delicious. I saw quite a few people having the laksa and it smelt so nice that I changed my mind about ordering from the roasted meat stall and decide to get myself a bowl of laksa instead. For me, I love having the laksa leaves added to my laksa as I felt that it will help to increase the fragrance and taste of the laksa soup. Here the laksa base is rather good, just the right amount of spiciness though I felt that the coconut taste is a little too strong, but overall, it is still good. I got the white thick beehoon to go with my laksa and I really loved it as compared with eating the laksa with the yellow noodle. The ingredients given are quite alright, I omitted the hum but if you are ok with eating it, the stall will give it to you by default. continue reading

The FoodI ordered a bowl of laksa served with generous portions of fresh cockles and prawns. The gravy is flavorful with coconut milk sweetness and prawn essence. The savory gravy absorbed the noodles thoroughly making every mouthful seem irresistible. In terms of quantity of prawns and cockles, It is indeed impressive. But I felt that its gravy would have been better if it was thicker. The yellow noodles are springy and not over-cooked.The PriceReasonably priced at $4 per bowlOverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this! continue reading

This laksa may look like the usual bowl of local delight which you can anywhere around you, but if you have your first mouthful of it, you will be impressed on how good their laksa gravy is. The gravy is very thick and full of the fragrant from the generous amount of coconut milk and chilli spicies added in it. The rice noodles is the usual chewy version and the added ingredients such as the prawn and beansprout are very fresh too continue reading
