Woodshed may be a little inaccessible with public transport but it is a very cosy cafe which wants to bring a homely feeling to all their patrons. The cafe is separated into two areas with the counter top in the middle. The front area is filled with bright vibrant colored sofa seats with small wooden stools or crates as table top. A relaxing area for some coffee or tea over a few pieces of desserts. They serve mainly coffee, tea and desserts, their menu for mains is quite limited at the time i went. & so we ordered the following to try.Tummy tea ($6.90): What an interesting name right. It’s a brew of peppermint leaves, liquorice roots, fennel seeds and calendula flower. It has a sharp sweet minty aftertaste that lingers around after drinking.Truffle Fries ($9.90): With no mistake, really one of the better truffle fries as what other reviews mentioned. Shoes strings fries tossed in truffle oil. Crispy fries with each and every single fries infused with the flavor of truffle. Just cant stop munching on it one after another. Super addictive and tasty.Full House ($15.90): A little different from the usual. Slice of toast with pork sausage, mushrooms, potato chunks, bacon and scrambled eggs with some greens. The scrambled eggs are quite good, runny and creamy. Cheesy pork sausage is fat and juicy too. But the potatoes are a little cold to begin with and its kind of chewy and rubbery.Unusual Fish & Chips ($17.90): Unusually big deep fried dory with homemade batter served with fries and salad. Dory fish is fresh not the flaky kind, and batter is not overly thick and flour-y kind. The best thing is, it’s really a huge portion! To sum it up, it's a nice and homely place to chill out with friends over a cup of tea and desserts on a lazy afternoon. It's good for a first timer but pricing may be considered a little expensive for a second return as the price excludes 10% service charge when we still have to self serve ourselves to the water and condiments. In consideration of so many new cafes sprouting up by the days, i may rather look for some other cafes which is more worthwhile.http://poohlovesfood.wordpress.com/2014/11/25/woodshed/ for full review with pics

Woodshed Cafe is located at around the secluded corner of Rangoon Road, at least it is to me. If you have heard of the bak kut teh in Rangoon road, Wood Shed Cafe will be easy to locate! All Day Breakfast: Full-House ($15.90), having the scrambled eggs, cheese sausage, bacon, mushroom, potato, salad, and 2 pieces of lightly toasted bread. I love their cheese! They seem to be too modest in their bacon, but I liked how it is not too over-cooked till crisp. All Day Breakfast: 2 of a Kind ($13.90). This duo is like the poached eggs type, with the yolk sweeping out as you sliced open the bread cup. Splendid!Waffles: WoodShed Special Waffles ($13.90). If only the waffle can be a bit more crispier, it would have been a perfect ending for this meal! For more details, please visit http://www.foodesteem.blogspot.sg/2014/06/woodshed.html

The new place to hit the Farrer Park / Pek Kio / Jalan Besar scene is recently opened Wood Shed who specializes in coffee and cakes currently. The drinks menu is rather simple. The Flat White ($5.50) is made from a blend sourced from a local roaster. It tasted strong and is full-bodied. There is a slight bitter taste on the last drop however. The cakes selection are sourced from Cakes Literally, which is just a few street away. The Red Velvet cake ($6) is firm and not crumbly. The amount of cream cheese added in each layer felt just right as well.Come April, they will be selling mains in their menu. If you are around the Pek Kio area, this is a great addition to the late night brunch spots to visit by then!
