Noodle Soup
Cries 2013-06-12

Was meeting my friend and we decided to visit Xin Wang for lunch. Not the best decision we made because the food was not of quality that day.

For Myself, I order Noodles soup and my friend ordered dry noodles.

The soup was bland and the noodles was really tasteless and soft.. Not chewy at all. To their credit, the luncheon meat was nice and crispy at the edges.

I knew it was going to be similar to instant noodles but I had expected it to be more flavorful.

I also ordered a flask of Watermelon ice blended. Watermelon ice blended is sweet and taste fresh.

Overall, the main course was a great disappointment so I would probably not be visiting again.

sandwich
Smile 2013-05-13

One thing good about Xin Wang is that they closed at very late night hours and thus provide a place for night owls to have their supper. Ordered something light – luncheon meat with egg sandwich after a night movie and was feeling a little hungry. The sandwich came with 3 layer of white toast, in between there’s luncheon meat and egg with tomatoes and cucumber. Not fantastic yet it was filing enough for me. Down with their signature HK milk tea to end the night feeling satisfied.

Shanghai Rice Delight
Smile 2013-03-06

The Food
I ordered the Shanghai Rice with spicy minced pork with luncheon meat. The rice is fragrant and the rice texture is just nice, not so hard or soft. Initially, the set come with fried egg but I exchanged into luncheon meat which I find is very good service. The luncheon meat is crispy and not so oily. As for the spicy minced pork, the pork was fresh and not too spicy for me.

The Service
As I went on weekday lunchtime hence the waiting time is still acceptable. The auntie who take down orders also friendly with a smile.

The Ambience
I like the ambience and comfy seats and they also played the chinese pop songs in the restaurant.

The Price
Reasonably priced at $9.90 for decent portion

Overall
I will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!

Good HK food
Smile 2013-03-06

I ordered the Black pepper chicken with spaghetti and thought that it was not bad. ALso, i got the Mango Ice Dessert.

I thought that a hong kong restaurant offering western food is not bad. Also, the mango snow ice dessert was huge, and the 3 of us split it smile

We also got soya bean milk, which came in a nostalgic metal tin cup smile Overall, it was a good dining experience and I will definitely reurn to try more of their extensive menu.

the milk tea in sin Wang is very nice and fragrant. So one day I decided to ask my friend to accompany me to din Wang just to have their milk tea after having dinner. Their milk tea is hong kong type because xin Wang is a hong kong styled restaurant. The milk tea is done just nice, the sweetness, creaminess and the texture is smooth and not course. Next time I will order this and other food as well because it is quite embarrassing to order only one drink for two person.

Xin wang's yuan yang is very nice..
It taste like the teh tarik from malaysia.
The Tea plus milk taste very nice, not too sweet nor too bitter.
It is just right.

I like this black pepper chicken spaghetti,The balck pepper sauce is very nice.
The spaghetti is also quite nice.
Although the combination is quite weird. They are nice is seperately eat.

The guo tie is not so nice,it is not crispy, and it is a bit oily too.

I simply love the food at Xin Wang! Especially the minced meat rice! The service is very good, I was observing two of the waiters, they literally rushed to the entrance to seat all their customers, so you need not wait very long to be seated. The food is served very fast too! Back to the minced meat rice, the gravy is very tasty, not too salty, eat with rice simply delicious. It also have a fried egg too!

Hong kong's dim sum is always very popular.
But i not really like dim sum, because it is very small and quite expensive.
It cannot fill my stomach.mad

The siew mai and prawn dumpling is not bad.The skin is very soft and inside is juicy.
I like to dip with some chili sauce,so it is nice.

I not really like this fried mee.
It is very normal and it is quite tasteless.
Actually i prefer the WaTanHo,it is more flavourful and make me have more appetite.

After a day out shopping with mum, we cam to the Hong Kong Cafe for snacks before heading home. My mum and I ordered their small snack along with drinks.
Another favorite of mine would have to be the crispy spring rolls! - With its crispy skin and yummy ingredients such as carrots, reddish and mushrooms. This was one dish that was so simple yet tasted amazing. One can really taste the flavor when biting into the spring roll.

before catching a movie @ Cine
Just OK 2012-04-18

Xing Wang HK cafe is an cosy place to while away the time while waiting for a movie to start cause generally cineleisure got nothing special, and that everyone has to admit. I quite like the ambience at Xin Wang. It oozes a very casual, fun and easy-going vibe with its colorful and vibrant decor that should appeal to the young crowd like in HK, alt I never been to Hong Kong

Peanut Butter and Condensed Milk Toast
Smile 2012-03-31

For a chillout session, my friends and I went to Hong Kong cafe during mid-day.
As it was a weekday, the cafe was rather quiet and the staff were very attentive!

I ordered their Peanut Butter & Condensed Milk Toast.
It was very rich, dense and thick!!
The toast was crispy and the peanut butter and condensed milk complemented each other very well.
It does get a little overpowering after a few bites as it's very sweet and a little too thick, leaving you very thirsty.
Hence, I recommend sharing this with another person.

Other than that, this is a MUST TRY! lol

干炒牛肉河粉 is another must try in HK restaurant, so I did.
And you know what again
It was the famous Singapore fired kuay tiao you can find in any hawker center.

There is just something so aromatic and flavourful in each an every cup of their milk tea,
and this is surely one of my favourite places to have my fix of milk tea.

The pasta was a little overcooked, too soft and the tomato pasta sauce tasted like instant ones.

The restaurant was pretty crowded, but we were really lucky and got seated in less than 5 mins cameThere are variety of food but we only want to have bites. We ordered some fried wanton, dessert and a coffee. We also ordered their baked rice/pasta and I ordered my Eel noodles which I loved! However, I think it is a bit overpriced even though the food is nice. Not sure about the original Hong Kong dim sum but personally I find their dim sum and baked pasta/rice "okay only". Will come bacck to try other of their food.

Fried tofu at XIn Wang
Smile 2011-12-31

Was with friends shopping around Somerset area before we decided to settle down at Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe.chopstickbowl Besides the usual fried rice and soup noodle, we add another new dish recommended by the staffs there which is this fried tofu (see attached image). The tofu skin was very crispy and it goes very well with the sweet and spicy sour which i feel that it was like the thai style tofu. The portion served was generous and pricing wise is also reasonable. Well go back for another attempt of fried tofu ;)
