My yummy kway chap lunch! I customized according to what i like - fatty meat, pig skin, salted vegetables and big intestines. All these including one bowl of kway is $4.50!For kway chap, most importantly the various inner organs must be cleaned properly with no weird smell. This stall handled it pretty well and i always have a satisfying meal. Chilli is pretty good too and without fail, i will always take 2 servings of it =)Seems like they appear on some food program on channel 8 and business has gotten even better! continue reading

Apparently the lady owner is the star of this stall, she is the one who argued with fellow hawker owners over some trivial stuff, even the 2 daughters were involved. More importantly she was the one who were filmed wearing only undergarments during the course of argument. Ok back to the food, ordered their kway chap at $3.50 for a single pax share. Only requested for no pig skin, so i got tau pok, fish cake, braised egg, big intestine and some meat. Pretty good variety actually. But i felt the taste is lacking, just not flavorful enough, likewise this is reflected in the kway chup soup. i would actually rate it average despite seeing so many accolades pasted on the stall front. Maybe i will try the duck rice instead next time. continue reading

This is my first review for my favorite food, Kway Chap! After watching 'where the queue starts 4' episode 2, I decided to go and try! I reach the food centre at about 7.30am on a Sunday! There's a few customer q-ing for the kway chap. We didnt wait long for the food to be served, probably about 10mins. The 'kway' is nice, very smooth. But the intestines is dry, overcooked and not soft/tender like the usual. The meat is not sliced evenly and it's thick! The taste of the intestines is a disappointment. However, the '咸菜‘ is hot and crunchy. Overall, I will not Q for the Kway Chap and will not travel there to eat. continue reading

The kway chap here is very interesting as lots of generous side dishes are placed on a plate to go along with the thick broad rice noodles soup. The rice noodles are very smooth and easy the chew. The soup base is is filled with very fragrant dark soya sauce flavour and also different types of chinese spices and pork meat sweetness in it. Especially like to eat their small pig intestines and sliced pork belly which are both equallly tender and chewy. continue reading

This stall always offer the best juicy duck meat which is quite unlikely you be able to get from elsewhere. Normally i will buy a whole duck and pack back to share with my family during dinner gathering. The duck.meat is.tender and easily to.chewy. The duck skin is not too oily and fill with the fragrant from the dark soy sauce and chinese spices. Great to eat it with a bowl of plain rice as well. continue reading
