i totally love the sambal stingray at lau pa sat festive market. The stingray is very fresh and it is very juicy, there is some natural sweetness due to its freshness. the sambal sauce is not too spicy but very shiok, when eaten with the stingray, it is absolutely heavenly. It was so satisfying that I finished two bowls of rice. It would taste better if the sambal chilli is more spicy, the condiments that they provided did not managed to add on to the spiciness.

Black pepper Chilli crab
Smile 2012-02-17

This is a memorable dining moment for me because we are Crazy seafood lovers & my hubby & I love the Sting ray & black pepper/chilli crab at Lau Pa sat. We normally try Chilli crab, but for a change decided to try out Black pepper crab. 2 medium sized crabs costed about 32 $. They were quite tasty & peppery & had alot of curry leaves in them. Eating crabs is usually a messy affair, but its worth it :-).

Alfresco dining
Just OK 2011-08-10

While we were sitting at the alfresco dining place at Lau Pa Sat, this lady came and solicited for ordering their food. She was eagerly waiting for our order with a big smile, happy that she even spoke our dialect Cantonese.

We chose cockle, a type of whelk, garlic with little jie lan and mee goreng. Whelk was fresh and nice but a bit small. I have eaten a foul cockle, it spoilt my taste immediately, I daren’t to take another cockle after that. Jie lan was nice. Mee goreng tasted and texture were right but a bit oily. I am not a mee goreng eater as I don’t prefer the oily yellow noodle, it wasn’t my type of food though. 4 dishes with 2 small and 2 medium serving, it costed $3. Well, it depends on ones choice whether worth the trip down to have the alfresco dining, I have no comment.
