I've heard of countless good reviews of this popiah stall at the corner of Clementi and decided to try it after school! There was already a long queue and I waited close to 20 minutes for my turn. I ordered one roll and watch as the old lady makes the popiah on the spot. The ingredients are really fresh and the whole popiah is not oily at all! This is truly the best popiah out of all I've tried so far! The queue never dies! People are willing to wait at least 15 minutes for the popiah which shows how good it is!!

After eaten countless popiah and i can easily say this particular one made by that friendly auntie is probably the best popiah in Singapore. Coincidentally, i met this Auntie at the market near my house before she closed her stall and disappeared for a few months. I came back a few times thereafter but the stall has been closed then. I waited and the stall finally reopened a couple of weeks ago. I took notice when i spotted a queue from far. There is always a long queue whenever the stall is opened. The auntie is basically on her own and so long waiting time is expected. When you order, you are expected to place the exact amount in the basket placed on top of the shelve. Each piece of popiah is reasonably priced at $1.50. The price might be a little higher as compared to other popiah out there but the size and the ingredients in it somewhat justified for the $1.50. It is quite a big fat piece generously stuffed with ingredients like turnips, beansprouts, hard boiled egg etc. And what made it distinctively stood out is the intense spiciness of their special chilli paste. It is unbearably hot even for someone like me who got a crazily high tolerance for spicy foods. The key is never to request for extra chilli unless you have already tried it and have gotten a strong enough stomach to survive it. The extra chilli is charged at 0.20 cents per serving. The auntie remembers me rather well. She said, 'Most people wouldn't make such a request to not to cut the popiah. You're the rare one out'. She said, 'I remember you. You stay in Ang Mo Kio too, right?' This auntie is blessed with awesomely good memory. She could remember all the orders well.We chatted and I asked her why did she close her stall for so many months. She said she went for an operation and that operation did not go too well so she ended up rested a bit longer. I asked her why did not her consider to have her stall in Ang Mo Kio since she is staying there. She said, 'I tried but i could not get a location with a reasonable rental in that area.'It is really nice to have Auntie back to make more of my favourite popiah. If you are a big fan of popiah then you gotta give this a try. You will not regret it!

No matter if you are still sick, live go on and food attempting still there. Went back to school for a wellness workshop today and feel motivate for something healthy to eat while shopping around Clemeti. I eat this popiah sell by a mature lady whose seem putting so much effort in the popiah. The skin is handmade and don't easily as other . It is just nice and not hard. The quee is usually there and there were be some waiting time but worth the wait for nice food like this. The ingredient inside is fresh and hot as I saw the lady usually cooking the bean sprout and the main ingredient called the carrot and " am guang" to enure freshness. The lady also wear glove which I think made it more hygiene and present to eat. The price of 1 popiah is $1.60 but she offers 2 for $3 and is very systematic in handling the cash at her age by putting it in tray and she alone concentrate to give you good popiah by cutting and folding it nicely. She is very careful lady and give a smile in her service though she says she took sometime to cut the popiah with the knife but I think it understandable and commendable to this lady. As it is only vegetable oil, I think it should be healthy and no pork no lame which is applicable to Muslim and I like especially the presentation of the popiah and since it hand made and realize the lady use two skin which made it easier to eat also as the ingredient is not easily drop out as other I try outside. The taste is yummy with the hot ingredient and the heart and soul of the lady doing the popiah. She is polite and have a good memory as she allow preorder and collect later for customer is know about the waiting time for no in the quee and she ask me my Oder and still know my order after she finishes the order just now. I glad ans surprised that she did Not ask me the same question again as some stall will. The lady is also generous when I saw a person who ordered three and can't finish there and take a plastic bag from the lady to take home , she gave it willingly. The place is clean around her area and always make the space neat and tidy. The environment is alright but would be better if more seating space for some elder people who are queening up as that coffee shop seem have many other nice food which people are queening up and waiting for their order.

This is my all time favourite Popiah. This popiah stall is manned by an elderly couple but most of them this stall is manned by the elderly lady herself. She is quite slow. The patience is the key to eating the popiah at this stall. You might be the 5th person in the queue but the waiting time can be as long as 30 minutes. Most of the customers ordered more than a piece and some can go up to 8 pieces or more. The popiah is slightly bigger in size priced at $1.50. It consists of ingredients like turnips, bean sprouts, boiled egg etc. You are expected to pay 0.20 cents for extra chilli to be added. And be warned, the level of spiciness is not for the faint hearted. When i was there for the first time, i asked for the extra chilli. I remember the elderly lady asked me, 'Are you sure? Have you tried the chilli before?' That was the only time that i asked for extra chilli. The level of spiciness is too intense for me.
