A simple restaurant in Jurong Country Club that serves nice Japanese cuisine. Was told the restaurant is known too for their bento but tonight's dinner was a full spread.

We started with the zensai Kaisen Kongo ($10.80) for appetizer which had about 8 ingredients like scallop, salmon, fish roe which was salty but when eaten with the lettuce garnish, it was better.

Next we had the teapot soup ($10.80) made from Oyster, not the tiny one but a big plumb juicy one.

The Sashimi Ume ($68.80) was good too. Halibut's fin sashimi was very good. Never tried it before but is very light and tasty. The fatty feel of the fish in the mouth was also fantastic. The Gindara Mentaiyaki was good too. It used pollack roe and cheese.

The teapot soup was made from oyster broth which was a pretty big sized one.

The Mentaiyaki was made from pollack roe and some cheese.

The sushi selection was also good with a mix of seared and raw items. The uni was fresh and I enjoyed it.

Most interestingly, the ramen broth was made from vegetable and cooked with seafood which is different from other pork or chicken base ramen broth. It was tastier than expected but I found the ramen noodle bland. Maybe because I'm more used to the oilier pork broth ones.

We ended the dinner with grape ice cream. It was yummy and the citrus taste is a great end to a lovely dinner.

Do check this place out. Definitely worth a repeat visit. There's visitor parking lot in the club so shouldn't be too difficult to get here by car or public transport. The restaurant setting is simple but the freshness and quality of the food is worth a trip to the Jurong country club for a good meal. Plus Chef Ming is such a lovely and personal host and that makes the whole experience very special.
