Many of you might already be familiar with the local eatery chain Collin’s by Chef Collin Ho, which offers both high quality and affordable Western and Japanese cuisines. Especially popular amongst the supper crowd, Collin’s has since rapidly expanded to 17 outlets island-wide! And together with our OpenRice members, we were invited down for a food tasting session at Collin’s newest and biggest outlet at Shaw Plaza.

Collin’s at Shaw Plaza has both indoor and outdoor seating, giving customers the option of a cozy-indoor dining or an al fresco dining experience.

The best dish for the night was Collin’s handmade 12-inch thin-crust Pizza, which scored a rating of 4.4 out of 5 points. Exclusive to the Shaw Plaza outlet, pizzas are handmade and baked in a wood stone oven. Crispy and flavourful, Collin’s Special ($16.80, pictured above) would definitely be your all-time favourite pizza, while the seafood lovers would love the Frutti Di Mare ($16.80), which is packed with shrimps, squids, mussels and crabmeat.

Another one of our favourite dishes was Collins' Signature Duck Confit ($13.50, pictured above). The skin was seared to perfection and was absolutely crispy and fragrant, yet the meat inside remained tender and succulent. At such an affordable price, it’s no wonder that this duck confit is Collin’s signature dish.

And of course, do remember to leave room for their desserts – all specially prepared at their dessert bar! If you love banana and vanilla ice cream, get the Baked Caramel Banana ($6.90, pictured above)! For those who are willing to wait (10 minutes preparation), order the Grand Marnier Orange Soufflé ($7.90) that is baked-to-order and truly melts in your mouth.

Christmas Gourmet Menu

A Christmas Gourmet Menu would be available at all outlets from now till December 30. We had the opportunity to taste two dishes from this festive menu – Winter Potato Salad with Ham & Chestnuts ($5.90) and Santa’s Baked Seafood Parcel ($11.90). If you’re looking for an affordable place with great ambience for Christmas, Collin’s at Shaw Plaza will be your best option!
