Eat as much dim sum as you can at Peony Jade. For its weekday afternoon buffet, this Chinese restaurant features a selection of more than 20 dim sum items which are ready for the taking. It’s also a plus that the price is quite reasonable such that it won’t leave a dent in your wallet. Some of the must try choices here are the Custard Bun, which is richly filled with what else but custard. Watch the cream ooze out of the bun as you slice it open and just let the sweet taste wallow in your palate. It’s really good! Since the early 90s, Wan Hao has already been serving Singaporeans with authentic dim sum. Until today, regulars still flock to this Chinese restaurant at Marriott Hotel to enjoy its traditional offerings they have grown to love. Even with the kitchen being led by new Chef Chan Lam Pang, the quality of the dim sums remains unchanged. Do try the signature Roast Pork Belly, with a very crispy skin that just crackles when you bite. But for us, the best part is the fat, which is just so tender and bursting with meaty goodness. --- Available daily Address: Marriott Hotel, 320 Orchard Road Level 3/F, Singapore 238865 Tel. Xiao Long Bao is a tricky dish to prepare. The skin has to have the right thickness so when you pick it up with your chopsticks, it doesn’t burst and make the soup ooze out. Yum Cha is one of the few restaurants which managed to prepare this famous dim sum in a consistently good way. This is one of the reasons why after all these years, this remains a specialty. For the restaurant’s daily buffet, enjoy this specialty along with other dim sum items – har gao, char siew bun, and siew mai. For an all-you-can-eat restaurant, the price range is so affordable that you can’t really go wrong with it. --- Available daily Address: 20 Trengganu Street #02-01, Singapore 058479 Tel.
