In celebration of their 2nd Anniversary, Pies & Coffee is proud to introduce its brand new outlet at Robertson Walk. With the same minimalistic interior across its outlets, this new one is set in a much larger space to match its expanded food menu. So, put on an appetite with your brunch-grabbing hands up in the air, then rise and shine for a glorious breakfast spread for the family. Think truffle mash, banana pancakes and sweet tarts in multi-coloured sprinkles for a sugar rush for the kids or young at heart. 'Eggciting' Selections

Left: Smoked Salmon Bagel Stacked, Right: Sunriser.

Eggs are essential in any breakfast menu and we were glad that Pies & Coffee’s morning selections included that protein packed golden goddess in three variations. For the basic works, Hearty Brekkie ($14.50) is Pies & Coffee’s signature breakfast platter covering both sweet and savoury departments with a crisp of Belgian waffles, scrambled eggs and a cheesy chicken sausage. Unless you crave a different kind of buzz, there’s the royal pairing of eggs with salmon with the Smoked Salmon Bagel Stacked ($14.50), where crowns of smoked salmon sit atop truffle mashed potatoes, sautéed button mushrooms and a creamy serving of scrambled eggs. The real eggciting highlight, however, is their Sunriser ($11.90) – like a magnificent sunrise that we would gladly climb out of bed for. The pie-inspired creation comes in a pair of pastry cups baked and filled to the brim with truffle mash, topped with a whole egg. Don’t worry about a soggy shell because that’s not happening. The firm walls are almost biscuit-like without being too hard for a muted crunch. Sugar Rush Hour

Hazelut Banana Pancakes

Besides waking up with a cup of coffee (The brew here comes from Toby’s Estate!), you can also choose have a sweet start to your morning with the Hazelnut Banana Pancakes ($9.90). A frothy latte would definitely go well with those fluffy pancakes, which a homemade hazelnut spread cascades down from like a luscious waterfall – the perfect destination for any Nutella lover. Sweet treats like the Berribelicious and Rocholate ($4.80 each) tarts filled with spongy marshmallows and gummy bears will probably keep the little ones at the table and bring the adults back to a simpler time. Feeling English? Get a pot of tea to go with their Orange Raisin Scones ($4) – a must-try – that comes either with Citrus Mascarprone Cream Cheese & Strawberry Balsamic Jam, or a tangier Citrus Passion fruit & Ginger Jam. New pies + Wholesome Sandwiches & Wraps

Left: Chicken & Tomato Chutney Wrap, Right: Smoked Salmon & Avocado Sandwich.

For a wholesome meal, the Chicken & Tomato Chutney Wrap ($7.50) or Smoked Salmon & Avocado on Focaccia ($8.90) should fill you up good. Nonetheless, pies still take centre stage at Pies & Coffee with signatures like Duck Confit ($9.95) and Wagyu Beef Cheek ($10.95). What we love about each pie is its soft crust that crumbles gently with every bite. And who’s to forget its trusty side kick – the legendary serving of mashed potatoes that come with bits of potato skin drowned in their secret gravy. New to the menu are the Chicken & Asparagus Pie ($9.95) and the Guinness Beef Pie ($10.95). Note: For the month of February, you can enjoy a complimentary gourmet pie with any two pies purchased. You can also snag a 20% discount on pre-orders of whole cakes or 11” sweet tarts + an extra 20% off if it’s your birthday month!
