After 45 long years of selling one of Singapore’s best braised duck rice, Lim Seng Lee at South Buona Vista Road has decided to close down. According to reports, the owner, Mr Lim Ah Too, 67, has health issues to worry about and felt this move was necessary since no one in the family showed interest in taking over the business. Word is the stall won’t be around after June 20 so naturally, the whole country is flocking to this famous stall for one last bite of the legendary boneless braised duck.
Our OpenRicers, on the other hand, got the VIP treatment and had the chance to savour some darn good duck completely F.O.C. during a recent Food Tasting session!
Obviously the star of the menu was the boneless braised duck. A style that’s becoming increasingly rare for duck these days, Lim Seng Lee’s signature dish is covered in thick brown gravy made of soy sauce and flavoured with cinnamon as well as other herbs and spices.
Other items on the tasting menu include duck gizzards (not for the faint-hearted!), braised eggs, minced tofu and sambal kang kong (all pictured above, clockwise from top left).

Or, you could always take option two and head to Lim Seng Lee to try the famed duck rice for yourself before June 20!
