With Singapore’s 50th birthday fast approaching, the Restaurant Association of Singapore (RAS) joins in the slew of celebrations with the launch of Singapore Restaurant Month, which will take place from 1 July to 10 August 2015. Together with the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA), Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Union Pay, RAS will offer the public a unique opportunity to savour 50 newly-created dishes from 50 restaurant brands. Among the list of participants are prominent names like Prima Tower Revolving Restaurant, Red Star Restaurant, Islamic Restaurant, and Fatty Weng Restaurant – heritage restaurants that have graced the local culinary scene for decades.
The 50 original dishes will use the best of our local produce to create flavours with an innovative twist, like the Sautéed Bird’s Nest with Egg White by Prima Tower Revolving Restaurant (pictured). Mr Andrew Tjioe, President of RAS and Executive Chairman of Tung Lok Group explains that their aim is to spread awareness about the quality of local produce, as well as encourage culinary creativity. These special creations will only be available from 17 July to 2 August 2015 (in conjunction with this year’s Singapore Food Festival), so be sure to try them out while you can!
