Tenderfresh chicken is always juicy and flavourful! Bought a full bbq chicken and two packets of rice to share with my family. The chicken is tender and with their chili sauce, it compliments the chicken really well! However, their rice which is yellow in colour was too dry and hard. I was on a pretty tight budget so i opted for one of the cheaper choices, the mid joint rice. there were three pieces of mid joints, good enough for me. i am not a big eater anyway. the yellow rice was quite a lot. almost filled to the brim of the box. there was a little portion of coslaw. so there is meat, vegetable and carbohydrate, a balanced meal i guess. the mid joints are really good. they marinated it with teriyaki sauce. the teriyaki sauce was not too salty. it infused into the chicken meat making it very tasty. yums! a box cost $3.50 pretty reasonable!…Read More

I guess I can call myself a fan of tender fresh. Judging by how much food I buy from them, it is about time I tried everything on their menu. they simply just have so many food for you to choose from, you can just try something new every time. This time round I ordered their Fried Chicken Leg with rice. When I opened the box, I was kind of shocked by the size of the Chicken Leg. It was really huge, practically covering more than three quarter of the rice. Normally when you order chicken leg from other western food stalls, you cannot find such large size chicken leg, I must really commend them for that.I know it is unhealthy but the skin is deep fried till really good. it is not oily too. I think the highlight is the fried skin. The coat the skin with the right amount of seasoning, it is not too salty unlike some fast food outlets. It is very crispy and you can hear the crunch every time you take a bite.The chicken meat is very juicy and surprisingly it is not oily at all, just juicy and tender. Normally deep fried chicken, the meat will get a little dry or even worst ooze out oil, but this was not the case for the chicken here.They serve the chicken with some yellow rice. I think the yellow rice tasted like those normal white rice, maybe they did not add enough spices to the rice as it did not have any spice fragrance.There was also coslaw to balance the meal to ensure your meal has a balance of staple, meat and vegetables. i think Tender Fresh is one of my favourite takeaway counter at Yew Tee Point basement. I ordered the chicken cutlet with rice. their chicken cutlet is really good, at least when you are lazy, you do not have to worry about removing bones. The meat is crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The rice is not the normal white rice but it is a yellow rice. I decided to give the grilled chicken leg with rice ($4.80) a try. The chicken leg was pretty large in size and it was very meaty. The chicken was grilled to perfection, it was not too tough nor was it too dry. the marinate that they coated the chicken tasted really good, a little sweetish, a little saltish. I like the coslaw that they gave with the meal, it was very light and refreshing. The rice was yellow in colour but tasted like the normal white rice. it was pretty filling cos the chicken leg was just huge. For a reasonable portion, I paid only $3.50. the teriyaki midjoint rice came with three pieces of midjoints, coslaw and yellow rice. the rice tasted pretty fragrant. the midjoints were marinated perfectly with teriyaki sauce, the teriyaki sauce was not too salty. the midjoint meat was not too tough. My mum cooked nuggets and fries for dinner. she got me to go to tenderfresh to buy their potato salad to go with her cooking. Tenderfresh sells really delicious potato salad. I hate those potato salad whose potato is too hard, but this was not the case for tenderfresh’s. there were chopped onions in the potato salad. The onions gave the salad some natural sweetness. You can hardly find potato salad sold so readily nowadays. I was glad to find that tenderfresh sold ala carte potato salad, you dun have to go and eat western food to get it. Their potato salad is really good. the potato is cooked perfectly, very soft, then they mixed it with light sour cream sauce. i was buying dinner home when I passed by tenderfresh and saw that they actually old cheese fries. I am a huge fan of cheese fries and could hardly resist to the sinful temptation of this dish. I am impressed with the portion of the fries they gave me, for only $3, they really give you a whole Styrofoam box full. The fries was deep fried till golden brown, it was not too dried up. I bought a box of nasi lemak from tender fresh. The nasi lemak was rather reasonable priced, $2.80. There was one fish fillet, one piece of egg, one chicken wing and one cucumber. The fish fillet look a little dry but when you cut it, it was juicy on the inside despite being crispy on the outside. The egg was really pathetic, it was a little burnt and had the burnt taste and it was so thin like tissue paper. The chicken wing was not too bad, it was deep fried till very crispy but when you tear open the skin, the oil ooze out. The nasi lemak rice turned out to be different from their picture. Their picture the rice is the yellow rice but the rice that I got was the nasi lemak kind but the rice was alright, a little clumpy but edible. We had come to Yewtee point to do some shopping from NTUC and then the kids said they were feeling hungry and wanted to eat something. So I decided to by them a filling meal of Burgers. So I stopped at Tenderfresh to pick up 4 burgers for all four of us. The service there is quite good and the staff there are polite. We packed the burgers and took them home so that we could sit comfortably in the warmth and cosy of our home and enjoy the burgers while we watched television. It was dinner time and only my mum and I were having dinner so she da bao dinner for us. We went to tenderfresh and bought a whole chicken. It was very reasonably priced. I like to order from this store as they also serve with a generous serving of fries and their cheese and mayonnaise as well.
