This is a 4 star-rating because their fishballs are made fresh at the stall. So the result is really bouncy springy lovely fishballs!! They also have a choice of their homemade meatballs! i've always wondered whats the hype with this stall and its long queue. queuing behind, i could see the stall is mend by 2 uncles and an auntie, one prepares the noodles, the other pours soup from a big metal can and the auntie does ad hoc stuff. Its not just pure fishball is offered, it also includes tou pok and homemade meat balls. When it was my turn i did not get to try the meatball though coz it was sold out. The meatball looks more like fish cake sized actually. i had mee pok dry with the more ingredients option for $1 more but that only came with 1 more fish ball and tau pok :( . The fishballs here definitely is one of the important reason why so many people have been patrolling this stall. The fish balls here are handmade daily by the stall owners so we can be assured the chewyness and firmness of their fish balls. The noodles here are equally chewy and the sauces which they have used in tossing the noodles are really fragrant and delicious. If you have eaten here and wondering why their fishballs tasted so different from other stalls but too shy to ask the boss then let me tell you the reason behind such goodness! The reason is none other than these are indeed the handmade fishballs. This might be one of the few remaining stalls still insisting in making their very own fishballs in Singapore. The 2nd generation of this particular famous fishball stall is still making their own fishballs using their hands to beat the fish paste and making them into fishball one by one. The distinct difference between the handmade and the machine made is the bouncy texture and this contributed to the goodness of the handmade ones. Other than fishballs, they do make their own prawn dumplings too. Disappointingly, i didn't get any for my $3.00 portion. Perhaps i should make a special request to try them in my next visit. I enjoy the chilli here, it has a nice tingling spiciness and when you tossed it really well with the generous amount of dried shallots and pork lards then you get yourself a bowl of heavenly good fishball noodle. The mee pok has a nice springy texture, if you do not quite believe then you can do the experiment yourself by holding them high with your chopsticks. This is definitely a bowl of fishball mee pok to die for. I am truly convinced that this is indeed one of the top 5 best fishball noodles in Singapore.
