The blackball dessert is quite different where it has a mix of grass jelly, pearls, yam, tapioca and sweet potato ball and red beans. This combination was really nice. The fen yuan for yam have two types but I like the one with actual yam inside. Read More

I like Saturday afternoon, totally relaxing day without worries of work for the next day. In other words, it was also a sinful day to enjoy food. After a proper lunch, we were heading to have our second round. Black Ball which originated by Taiwan was our target, especially the hot weather here. Very famous among students, most of the patrons were youngsters when we joined the queue. Choices were quite flexible, available from icy, cold warm and hot. Best seller of the shop, the Fresh Milk with Grass Jelly (In Cup) was a making of premium drink which had authentic “Xian Cao” fragrance. Low calories choice, the milk was good tasted ever. Crushed of balls came along with a plentiful of toppings, it was colourful and attractive. Dedicated with smooth texture, the mixture was silky chewy in general. Five of us shared four serving of dessert, we had our chilling enjoyment at Black Ball.Read More

This is my first time trying blackball and i gotta say it is very nice and value for money. We paid around SGD $5.50 for this bowl of heaven and i shared it with my friend. ( around $2.30 each only!) The pearl are chewy and sweet, yam cubes and sweet potato are fresh too. i love the milk and the overall taste is really good with all the toppings. you can choose different toppings to fit your personal choice. it doesnt have fixed sets. Overall, i will definitely return for this Read More

Been dying to try Blackball ever since it opened its doors! Never really got a chance up till recently because the previous times were either lined with super long queues or having their signature sold out. So I finally got a chance to try it out on a rainy evening at Star Vista, there's still customers but my buddy and I managed to get a table. There's only 3 tables inside and 1 table outside which is relatively small but it doesn't matter because people can always takeaway! Then I've got my queue number for which my order was ready in less than a minute. The Blackball Signature ($5.40) is their best selling star item and it can be ordered in 4 different ways - hot, warm, cold or icy. The no.1 grass jelly dessert from Taiwan consists of interesting ingredients like yamQ, golden sweet potato, yam balls, sweet potato balls, red beans and pearls. I love all of them equally! Milk was given as an optional thing to add, it didn't affect much of the overall taste so it probably doesn't matter much. But it's good for pictures. The dessert is not too sweet and the blend of distinctive different textures of each ingredient helps to set the art of how asian desserts should really taste like. Overall, Blackball did a great job satisfying my desserts craving and I do look forward to my future visits! Hopefully they'll have open up more outlets in the North too!Read More

Came here as much as four times, but I'm still hooked onto it.Brought my mom here, and we shared their signature.I've always ONLY bought their signature blackball dish, and ALWAYS order the icy version. The pearls, and taro, tapioca balls were perfect and chewy. My mom really loves this because it is refreshing on a sunny day.Add milk if you like, I always do so - I do think it enhance the whole bowl of goodness.Very generous serving tooLOVE IT!On a side note, the service is getting bad.The staff who served me was grumpy. Her tone was also unfriendly. When people asked for an extra spoon, she gave an irritated look to that customer.Overhead them complaining that she "bin chao chao" (black face)Also, the staff doesn't clear the plates left on the table fast enough. seems like there's a labour crunch?Read More

Blackball Dessert is by far the best asian cold dessert I've had in Singapore (even in comparison to the HK desserts!) and i've been having a craving for blackball for way too long!Blackball @ the Star Vista is great cus there are alfresco seats for you to enjoy the dessert and the best part about blackball is the impeccable variety -milk tea, blackball icy, blackball supreme etc. I definitely recommend the Blackball Signature because it really gives you the best of, well, all worlds! w yam and sweet potato balls/Q which are really starchy and tasty and oh-so-addictive.At $5.20, blackball signature with icy grass jelly (in my opinion) beats all the others hands down! The red bean, ice and grass jelly goes perfectly with the chewiness of the yam and sweet potato balls. My favourite (strangely) has to be the milk. The milk really gives this dessert a creamy and rich taste which I surprisingly loved! Blackball seems to be the oddest and strangest combination of *everything* and yet it just clicks so effortlessly. Definitely recommend this to anyone who hasn't tried it.P.s. I can never finish one portion so you may wanna share w a friend :)Read More

How can anyone resist blackball!Originated from Taiwan it has now become very popular in Singapore! It's my first time trying this cranberry shaved ice flavour To combat the hot weather here, this is just what we need! The challenge when it comes to eating blackball! is the small constraint space and crowd of people! So it takes us like 10 mins or so from waiting of a table! You can imagine we dig into or dessert when it comes I like this alot, sweet and cooling :)You can get a good bite out of red bean, grass jelly, pearl and white jelly Read More

There are four ways to enjoy the BlackBall Signature, you can either have it hot, cold, warm or icy. It is a combination of yam, golden sweet potato, yamballs, sweet potato balls, red bean and pearls. The hot one was semi-liquid like, while the cold one was great on hot days. I love love love the grass jelly, it was so soft and the texture is amazing. Better than those shops which sell you the grass jelly from supermarkets ;)Read More

Loving Blackball so far.The first time I had a similar dessert was in China.Anyway, I always order their signature blackball with shaved ice.Really delicious as the tapioca and yam balls were chewy! Will always eat it when i past by.Their grass jelly is pretty normal though, so I suggest buying their signature dish instead of buying a grass jelly drink!you should try it too! Too bad the outlet is too small and squeezy!Read More

Black ball signature that can be served in 4 ways : either hot, cold, warm or icy. Currently there is a promotion for 2 orders of Black ball dessert and 1 drink, it just costs $11.20. As for the cold version and it served YamQ, Golden Sweet Potato, Yam Ball, Grass Jelly, Pearl, and Red Bean, topped with shaved ice. Just you start eating, remember to add in the pack of milk. Tastes is a far cry from what I have in Taiwan. The balls have too much flour that I could not taste the yam, sweet potato. The shaved ice is too rough compare to the smooth and fine ones in Taiwan. Feel that it quite expensive for a bowl of flour balls.Read More

*whistles* The awesome 5-flavoured blackball.. the signature blackball is squishy, and wasn't too sweet. It's quite cheap also, only $4 for such a wonderful bowl of dessert. It contains a combination of Golden sweet potatoes, YamQ, Yam Balls, sweet potatoes balls, red beans and pearls. They use quality ingredients for sure, because I could taste that the pearls weren't as tough as those that you get from bubble tea shops!I recommend that you order 'cold' in such a warm and humid weather in Singapore. :)Read More

This was my second bowl of BlackBall signature. This dish comes with crushed ice topped with abundance of goodies such as grass jelly, honey yam, pearls, read bean, nata d coco, green bean, fresh milk and more. Its definitely one of the best desserts to end of your meal. I find that the portion is quite huge for 1 person, thus it may be a good idea to share it with another friend too. Read More

Ordered the black ball signature at S$4.90 and "Jiu Fen" Taro Balls Crushed Ice at S$4.50 to share and chat among ourselves. The best listed among all is its black ball signature that can be served in either hot, cold, warm or icy at customer's choice. We have chosen the cold version and this comes with the perfect combination of Golden sweet potatoes, YamQ, Yam Balls, sweet potatoes balls, red beans and pearls. The cold version was not as cold as expected and turns warm after sometimes due to the humid weather. Loves the "Q" and chewy bites from the items. We requested the cashier to add in ice to make the dish cold and they did it without additional cost."Jiu Fen" Taro Crushed Ice is great. This is also listed as one of the better bowls of desserts and a must try! The grass jelly is very cooling and additionally smooth, the best part of it is that one can add the little cup of milk to enhance its taste. The outdoor seatings are good and well prepared for humid weather with fans installed. However the environment is quite dark and difficult for customers to read the menu. Service overall is okay, just that there is one lady who has attitude issues, making loud noises when clearing the tables and giving a sulky look.I will like to dine in Black Ball again after meal especially when the seats are outdoors and should be windy during the nights.Read More

Decided to head to BlackBall for some nice Taiwanese desserts, after craving for some nice taiwanese taro ball dessert for the week! The shop was rather small and there were limited seats inside, so we had to order a takeaway bowl. We ordered their BlackBall Signature, which came with a cornucopia of ingredients: ice shavings, grass jelly, sweet potato balls, yam balls, red bean and pearls. The portion was rather generous and could probably feed two person nicely. This cold dessert is definitely very refreshing in our hot weather and it is a joy chewing on the various toppings and savouring the flavours. We did not add the milk provided as my friend was concerned it would get too sweet.Read More
