The stew is really yummy. and goes well with rice! In general, the food is good but there is rather huge inconsistencies with their seafood pancake. During my first visit, I was blown away. It was crispy on the outside, juicy sweet and fragrant on the inside. The 2nd time we went, it was inconsistent and not good. Overall okay, but I won't recommend the army stew. Not worth the price of $35 for a pack of instant noodles The BBQ was good, and it isn't smokey so that's good!

So i came back for my slice of Korea. And unfortunately, I was already disappointed when they served it.A picture says a thousand words and hasn't that said it all? The army stew was served to us. in a weak diluted color and unsurprisingly, the taste was equally bland. And when it came to feedback?I just had the waitstaff tell me she could give me more chilli powder to make the color a deeper red. You mean, i don't even deserve some nongshim seasoning here? This was terrible. And suffice to say,

This was terrible. And suffice to say, I didn't order anything else. and left this half done before the both of us left.

Walking into the shop, I find myself surrounded by tables of the locals dining with shochu at the end of their work day. the most memorable item on the banchan were the mayonnaise buttered corn. i LOVED this. and no, there were no seconds on this. imagine my face when i see the table next to me not touching theirs and it had to be cleared out -just like that- when they left. sigh. the kimchi however, needed a longer time to soak in the flavours.

we were here solely to try the meats and there's a minimum order of two types of meat before you get the charcoal grill going. otherwise, it'd just be cooked and served.

the staff do the grilling of meats for you but not that they keep track of timings. they just do it as they walk past. so still do watch out for your own meats.

the signature red pig pork was marinated with a reddish sauce and the eventual meat tasted like char siew. it was good but not overwhelmingly so.

the short ribs were savoury and went well with the lettuce and hot sauce provided. Mmm.

Everyone said it tasted like orh lua cause of the starchy texture. But it is well fried, offering a crispy exterior and a smooth interior which is an absolute divine!

Red Pig Korean restaurant seems popular amongst Koreans and authentic enough given that it is run by Koreans. It focuses on serving barbeque pork. The signature red pig meat ($20) was very good. The meat was well marinated with a special kind of sauce not typically found in other Korean restaurants. The staff is also quite friendly and will help to barbeque the meat if help is needed.

I almost got lost finding this place. I arrived with my friend around 8+ (I think) and it was pretty packed. We sat upstairs and really loved the ambience there, compared to the area downstairs. We ordered two main dishes, the pork belly and some fish roe soup (seriously cannot remember the names of these Korean dishes). The pork belly was pretty good, kimchi was excellent, and so were the other side dishes. The soup was quite spicy, but fish roe isn't really my thing, my friend loved it though.I

I didn't really reek of oil after my meal, this is a major plus point. Must've been the vacuum thingy above the grill that helped. Yay for that!

It was for a friend's birthday but the menu was rather small so we decided to splurge and order all the choices for the meat BBQ, a tofu kimchi stew as well as spicy rice cakes. Eating tofu stew on a rainy day was comforting and satisfying. It was of just the right taste and we ate it clean.

Service was rather disappointing though. I don't know if they were short handed, but they took very long to attend to our orders, and our tumbler of water took very long to get refilled. The amount of side dishes was limited to just kimchi, onion and cold tofu. No anchovies, no beansprouts, no rolled egg. They were also very slow in giving us refills.

Red Pig is actually owned and run by a Korean lady, so the food over there is authentic and yet at a great value. As the lady owner run the restaurant in a more home style way. The restaurant is rather small, so it can be really packed during lunch or dinner hour. And you can expect many koreans in this restaurant.

But charcoal korean pork BBQ ($18 for one person) is only available for dinner. They do have lunch menu around $10 per set during lunch hour. As usual, side dishes are complimentary and refillable in this restaurant too.

They are now having the lunch promotion at 10 dollars. I ordered the BBQ pork for my main dishes. Same as any other Korean restaurant, they will serve many side dishes. Heard from the staff that the side dishes can be refilled two times but we only ask for one time refill because the main dish is very big portion. It's really worth for money. The pork is too oily but delicious. On the other hand, the kimchi taste slightly bland. I will only revisit this restaurant if they still have the 10 dollar
