Tried all the dishes before settling down with Mee Pok because the wonton noodle taste a bit like rubber band. I preferred the egg noodle taste which is lacking here. Plus do not like the waiting time for the boiled prawn dumpling. They could pre- cooked it just like what they have done for the wonton. continue reading

At Tampines Mart Kopitiam, there was a new Wanton Mee stall that had just opened. This Wanton Mee stall was a branch from the famous 1st Love Wanton Noodle at Geylang Bahru. There was not mush queue during Lunch hours, hence I ordered the Special Wanton Mee set which cost $4.80. If using Kopitiam card to pay, there was further 10% off menu prices. This set contained not only Wantons and Char Siew but also braised chickn feet. The portion looked big for this price. There was generous crispy pork lard given. The fried wanton tasted good, inside there was generous marinated pork with spring onions. The Char Siew was yummy with sweet malty outer layer and tender fatty meat inside. The star was the braised chicken feet, it was very fragrance and braised with herbal sauce. However, the mee kia was disappointing. It was soggy and lump together. I guess the stall holder had over-cooked it. Overall, the Wanton Mee was one of the better ones around this area. If not for the soggy noodles, it would be the best.  continue reading
