Nowadays, you can hardly find any stall selling $2 nasi lemak. Today I passby Jurong West and saw a stall with a big signboard showing $2 sets. There was a short queue at this stall. I wanted to order Set A with the fried chicken wing but was soldout. Hence, I ordered the Set B added vegetables and the total cost was $2.80. The serving portion was large at this pricing.Without chicken wings and ikan bilis, Set B felt more like Cai Png with coconut flavoured rice. The rice had a mild coconut aroma but was slightly soggy. The sambal chilli was good, sweet and spicy with belacan taste, but I found the sambal chilli was out of place without chicken wings or ikan bilis to dip into. Their fried long bean was very good, the long bean still had the crispy crunch and had "Wok Hei". Overall, I find this Nasi Lemak was good, hopefully the next time there would be Set A available. continue reading

This stall has been there for there since the hawker opened after renovation but I did not have the time to try it and their business seem to be doing very well. I ordered bee hoon and noodles with cabbage and ngoh hiang, it cost abt $2++( I could not remember the price. I like that the proportion of the bee hoon and noodle is about the same because some other stalls that I patronized before gave me disproportionate amount of noodles. The ngoh hiang is crispy and the cabbage is nice and crunchy. continue reading
