Laksa soup, on the other hand, is pretty good and better than average. It is thick and brew with ample heibee, simple but lingers around your tongue and makes u crave for more.

Decide to order Prawn Noodle Soup, there no people queuing, so take about 6minutes time i got my food. This stall also selling Laksa, & different type of prawn noodle, there a Jumbo Prawn Noodle and Spare Rib Noodle. If order a soup noodle, the soup base is very important for the overall food, i tried the soup base, taste of the prawn not that strong. Just normal only. Come to the ingredients, there only 3 small prawn, 5 slide of fish cake. It cost me $5 per bowl. not worth it for the price..

Love the thick, rich, aromatic of the laksa gravy with juicy prawns, cockles, slices of fish cakes cooked to perfection! Not to mention the noodles, it was somehow cut to shorter length for easy dining. The only laksa that you dine without using a pair of chopsticks. Local folks should know that. So remember don't feel puzzled if it was being served without it. Oh ya, i bet the regular bowl is quite not enough for a big eater, might consider to upsize your bowl and of cos at a price!

the laksa here is very nice. love the addition of the hard boiled egg. it is quite spicy but very balanced. the coconut gravy is very fresh and tasty. not too salty. love the ingredients used. the bean sprouts are fresh and the noodles are nicely cooked, smooth and springy. a bit overpriced as it is food court and not hawker. but it is great to sit in the air conditioning to eat hot laksa because you'll be sweating a lot. nice seating available. highly recommend this laksa.

had laksa here a few times. not too bad. good spiciness, good ingredients, good coconut gravy. the coconut gravy was fresh. it can get a bit rich and sickening by the end of the bowl, but the ingredients were generous and the noodles were nicely cooked so they did not clump together and were not undercooked. overall, it's quite well balanced. best to have some juice or water ready as it does get quite spicy. you can see the red chilli oil floating on top even when the gravy is steaming hot.

This stall is located within the Food Republic food court.
There is a cozy ambience and great feel here.
Will be back for more, and maybe will try the prawn noodles the next time!

The laksa here is great. Nice balance and not too spicy. It's so good we finished every drop of the gravy. The noodles are fresh and al dente. There is half and egg in there and some bean curd thing as well. We saw some people taking red chillies on the side so we decided to try it too. It was actually used to dip the prawns in. The prawns were nice and fresh. The location is very good and comfortable as well. Tables were cleared really quickly and everything is clean.

Served with a banana leaf, this stall's hokkien mee is one not to miss. The sauce is nice, a tinch of saltiness and the fragrant stir fried prawn. The sauce is not watery, really tasty. The chilli paste is rather salty but spicy enough. Be sure to beat the crowd coz you will not want to wait 15 minutes for this dish like I did

Laksa at 3rd Generation's comprises of hits and misses. The hum here does not taste as fresh and their noodles were slightly overcooked. However, the fishcake was springy and tasty while the beancurd was not too wet. The laksa soup has a good mix of spiciness and coconut milk but it still has a long way to go to be compared to a Katong Laksa

I have been a loyal customer of 3rd Generation Laksa & Prawn Noodles from the time they opened in Food Opera, to Food Republic 313@Somerset, and now here at NEX.

They serve up great stuff and their ingredients are very fresh.

Let me start with their Prawn Noodles. I usually order Prawn Noodles with Pork Ribs. Their prawns are boiled just right. I know of places that boil them too long, making them mushy.
And we know, a good bowl of prawn noodles is highly dependent on the soup.
3rd Generation makes great soup - flavorful, rich and addictive.

One thing I must add though, is that I find that their soup isn't very consistent in quality. There are days where if you're lucky, you get superbly awesome soup. But there are the few rare occasions where the soup is rather bland.

As for the Laksa, the taste of the gravy is simply shiok!! It is the right balance of lemak yet not over empowering on the tastebuds. It would be perfect however, if they were more generous with the prawns, cockles, fishcake and Laksa leaves.
But then of course, if you're one of those Laksa connoisseurs who go for the gravy, you'll definitely enjoy this.
