Feeling quite hungry for supper so went to Al-Ameen to try their prata. The menu was simply huge with different variants of the same drink with different prices The prata was not as nice as expected as it was warm instead of crispy piping hot. The teh tarik was quite diluted unfortunately. I also tried the milo dinosaur and it was nothing exceptional (how do you go wrong with milo?) continue reading

this is my 2nd favorite supper place in Bukit Timah apart from Al Azhar. The setting is very similar to all the other coffeeshops in the area: very noisy, always full of activity and huge. The servers are always running around and if you're not used to eating in such a place, you might want to try somewhere more quiet. But I always love coming to this place to create a din with my pals!Anyway, my favorite dish here is the mutton nasi briyani. Tender mutton, and wonderfully tasty rice. Another one of my favorite dishes is the butter chicken, which is extremely thick and creamy. I am actually salivating as I'm typing this. This goes very well with the excellent naan served at this place.I always top off my extremely sinful supper with a good dose of milo Godzilla, which is basically just good old iced milo topped with tons and tons of milo powder and probably other very sinful sugary stuff. In short, if you want to eat here, you'd better prepare to run a mini marathon the next day to burn off all the excess calories. continue reading

So yesterday for Dinner I went to Al-Ameen Makan house with My Aunt and Cousin. We ordered Ox Tail Soup, gobi manchurian, Nasi Goreng Kampung and Bush(Nasi Goreng with spicy chicken, egg and Sambal Belchan). Ox Tail Soup -It's not really made of Ox Tail. It's just meat. the soup was sour-ish and spicy and they serve it very HOT. the meat was cook perfectly. It was my first time trying the soup and I LOVE IT! It was really Delicious. Gobi Manchurian is deep-fried cauliflower, later cook in different spices. It's North indian dish. The dish looks really red because of the red colouring they add. But this is a bit spicy. The cauliflower is really crunchy! It tastes Awesome. This dish is a MUST TRY!Nasi Goreng Kampung is Stir-fried rice with chicken serve with crackers and sambal belchan. The dish isn't that spicy unless you eat it with the sambal. The rice was cook perfectly. I wonder why they name this dish "Bush". it's Nasi Goreng dish as well but serve with Spicy chicken and vegetable with egg and sambal belchan. This is a spicy dish. The chicken was very tender and soft. The rice was very tasty. It like a combo! Most of the Rice dish they serve always comes with an Egg and Sambal Belchan. I always go to Al-Ameen Makan house to eat with my family and cousins all the time. This place is very popular. It's usually packed at night. They serve a lot more other food!!! The total amount we spent was $30. If the food tastes good, I wouldn't mind spending money! DO TRY IT OUT! continue reading

This is a wonderful eating place, although there is a lesser crowd here now as the place is undergoing an MRT construction the food quality is still goodI ordered a $8 packet of special mee goreng for dinner to share with my husband. The portion was huge and the noodles was yummy-licious.It was sweet, spicy and oily with a nice chunk of mutton in it. I enjoyed it thoroughly and we even had some leftover for the next day, so if use around the area, don't forget to drop by and try. continue reading
