Next attempt Jack's Place, ordered truffle fried with cheese , shrimp with Golden slipper lobster and BBQ chicken. Place was well decorating as usual and lots of ppl. Without long wait, out serving came together. The pasta was well done with shrimp which made is sweet and lobster size of my palm. BBQ is a healthy choice from menu. Like the meat so tender and together with some salad vegetables, mesh fries and tomatoes. Dame shiok with chili too. The curly fries is serve quite hot and fresh with cheese on a large plate. Overall is good. continue reading

Went to jack's place with my family for lunch today & tried their set meals . The set meal includes soup of the day (broccoli), a slice of garlic bread, main course (choose either grilled chicken or sirloin steak), dessert of the day (panna cotta), complete with either a cup of tea/coffee. The broccoli soup was good & creamy with tiny bits of prawns in it. Love to dip the garlic bread into the warm soup to enjoy maximum flavours =) My mum & sister ate grilled chicken with orange sauce, mashed potato & broccoli while my father & I had medium rare sirloin steak, mashed potato & broccoli. The chicken is pretty yummy, tender & flavourful paired very well with the sauce. The steak however is not very delicious. I guess is due to the cut of the beef - too much tendon, making it too tough to chew & slice. We all love the mashed potato as it was very smooth & creamy. The broccoli on the other hand was a bit too hard. Panna cotta was served in a very small dessert glass, topped with red bean. It is a nice combination but I guess it will be even better if the panna cotta is softer. I guess I will not return to Jack's place for meals again. The set is considered reasonable & cheap but the food is not really that nice. continue reading

The restaurant had been here since my childhood days (at least 20 years?). Used to visit this place with my parents quite often when i am still a kid.. Brought my wife for dinner. Ordered the rib eye steak & fish n chips. Served in a sizzling hot plate, the steak was tender, juicy  and the black pepper sauce goes well with it. No doubt still a place for good steak but the Fish n chips is quite normal though. continue reading

Opt for affordable but fulfilling Western lunch, my friend suggested Jack Place. The place was decent cozy, I felt relaxed to dine-in here. Service was prompt and friendly, staffs were in neat uniform and readily to help. Lunch hour, it was not exaggeratedly crowded.I ordered Combo instead of Daily Set Lunch, because I was craving with Dear Meat. Dressed plate along with Lobster, Broccolis, Carrots and Huge Baked Potato, it looked tempting. Maybe the presentation in the photo was not too fancy but the taste was all right. Venison satisfied the taste I want. Lobster was extremely fresh and well-grilled, sweetness burst out from flesh. Potato deserved my attention, it was just nice, not too dry or too mushy. Topped with Fried Onion, it was heavenly fulfilling. $25.30 for the whole, it was worthwhile definitely. continue reading

This place is a bit away from the Ang Mo Kio central, but it is still filled with people on a weekday afternoon. Most people are having the set lunches, which comes with soup of the day, main course and also the a slice of cake of the day. The soup is served shortly after ordering of food, and comes with a cold and soft garlic bread. The main took a long time, partly cause of the crowd as well. I had the steak main course, of which i have ordered medium rare, but was almost medium done. The steak is thin but comes with nice mushroom sauce. Overall, this is the place to go to have set lunches, but i do not think it is worth a trip specially for anything on its ala carte menu continue reading
