Here's the shop entrance at orcahrd.. Easily accessible from the mrt via underground walkway. The display usually mesmerizes you.. Having been in the US for 3 years and watching the Krispy Kreme shops make donuts on the spot hundreds at a time !.. This is a tiny shop in comparison.Their iconic logo and bag for just one donut.. I got a glazed donut for a snack. I usually don't like donuts as they are too sweet and my best friend worked as a Krispy Kreme delivery driver in the US and I pretty much tried all their donuts before and they're all for the people who are addicted to sugar or want diabetes. So basically, not for me.My single glazed donut which I ate two bites and threw the rest away.. Too sweet... Again.. And the donut was kinda hard.. And stale.. At least service wise, the staff is quick.. And the line moves fast. continue reading

Tried their double chocolate donut for $2.95. It's quite expensive for a donut and I guess that's why the hype over krispy kreme has died down and every time I passed by the place, there's no queue already! As usual, their donuts are really sweet but I really love their soft and fluffy donuts. The double chocolate flavour only makes the donut sweeter. However, it is moist, and I love the taste of the chocolate but it being too sweet spoilt the whole donut. It only tastes good if it is bought once in a long while as the sweetness of the donuts stays with you. continue reading

I got myself a half dozen, which cost close to $18. Was a bit taken back by the hefty price tag, it was almost $3 each. I thought it would be cheaper to buy half dozen, but no, still charge individually. Therefore, if you are like me, just buy 1 to try bah.. Flavors that I got: Peanut Butter, Cookie Crunch, Red Velvet, Cookies & Creme, Chocolate Dream Cake, Almond All OverCritics for the donuts? Dun scold me, but they were really just donuts. The sweetness I think still within my threshold, which is probably considered high for most people. Great variety of topping, but can be found in other donut joints. Slightly more crispy, but not impressive. Was expecting more lor.. >.<Visit http://fun-hideout.blogspot.sg to read more review! ♥ ♥ ♥ continue reading

Yesterday was my third time trying out Krispy Kreme's doughnuts. I must say the only thing that's worth the visit to KK is their Original Glazed. My RV doughnut had a hole in it (minus points on the presentation already) and it's way too sweet and heavy. Plus, there's not evident RV taste. This tastes just like the Original Glazed, but two times sweeter. The RV was quite dense too. Might as well top up a few cents more and get a real RV from Twelve Cupcakes.I've tried the one with OREO bits on it (am not too sure on the product name because my friend bought it for me) before and it tastes almost the same as the Red Velvet. Actually, in my opinion, I think their "speciality" donuts taste similar. All I got was that "typical donut taste".All in all, I would rather go to a neighbourhood bakery shop and get my sugar donuts at almost half the price. continue reading

I love red velvet cake. Red velvet doughnut? Surely this is a must-try for me! I picked this almost immediately. The red velvet doughnut was topped with sugar glaze and sprinkled with crumbled red velvet cake. Biting down the doughnut, it felt like you are having a red velvet cupcake because of the dense texture of the doughnut. The milky white sugar glaze did not only perk up the look of the doughnut, it also gave me a real sugar rush. I was attracted to this black and white combination - choco kreme cake. After being placed in the paper bag, this doughnut was not at its tip top condition for photo. This is a chocolate flavored doughnut topped with soft whipped cream and oreo crumbs. Personally, I prefer this one over the red velvet one as this is not as sweet. I love the texture of the doughnut, it was dense, moist, and crumbled easily in the mouth. continue reading
