Salted caramel mocha & swiss chocolate custard danish. The salted caramel mocha frappe was totally awesome. The salted crystals that were sprinkled on the whipped cream totally matched the frappe. Today's whipped cream was mediocre. Tasted a little bland, but the caramel made up for it. The danish was so-so. The chocolate was too smashed for me. The swiss chocolate was too rough. The pastry was not fluffy enough. continue reading

At Starbucks, is either a cup of hot chocolate or a ice-blended mocha. So for 2 consecutive days, I had the same combination which is a tall Hot Chocolate and Ugly Curry Chicken Puff. It doesn't need much explanation why I went again especially for the puff. They heat up the puff for you upon ordering and I love it when it doesn't get burnt on the outside. And the fillings inside is hot so be careful. The skin is so flaky and soft along with the hot piping fillings which nearly fall out on my plate. Quite satisfying as the proportion of the skin size and amount of fillings is almost even. The fillings are just like those in small curry puffs but the taste is nicer, probably the herb and spices used in the making is a little different from normal ones.At a price of $4.30, it is rather pricey as compared but definitely worth the try. continue reading

Apart from serving descent coffee and sweets, Starbucks offers quite a good range of yummy savoury pastries. The Country Chicken Pie ($5.20 at NUS, could be slightly more expensive in other outlets) is one of the delicious good. Upon ordering, the staff will heat up the pie for you. The crispy pastry is fragrantly smell good, and taste buttery. The best part is of course the filling. The chicken minced meat and lots of mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corns etc) together with the creamy mushroom gravy, are simply comforting and satisfying. continue reading

I saw the advertisement outside starbucks the other day about their new breakfast menu, and decided to try it out. I ordered the Turkey Cheddar breakfast roll ($5.2) for take away. When I opened the paper bag when I arrived in the office, only to realize the melted cheese is all over the place, and even stick to the paper. Despite the yucky look, it actually tastes quite alright. I like the pan-fried egg which taste delicious together with the cheddar cheese. However, the thin slice of turkey isn't contribute much to the overall flavour. continue reading
