I paid my visit on my birthday eve celebration. The branch at Clarke quay offer a good open dining place with a view of Singapore river and Clarke quay night life. The food and dessert are standard and above average compared to other branches. I love their dessert which is creative and decent.Despite that, the service could be improved as it was hardly to get noticed sitting at open dining place outside the restaurant. Oven-roasted White Fish w/ Yuzu Sauce. It was oven-roasted to perfection. The white fish paired with ravishing Yuzu sauce in an elegant taste affair. The taste is perfect for the combination.Pan-seared Chicken Breast w/ Shogayaki Sauce. Marinated chicken breast exquisitely matched with shogayaki sauce and a mild edamame cream. Served with onion-roasted potatoes, lotus root slices and broccolini. The taste is good and chicken was tender and moist.Baked Chicken Thigh w/ Wholegrain Mustard Sauce. The chicken thigh oven-baked to a succulent tender with a sweetly fragrant wholegrain mustard sauce served with a side of garden accompaniment. The chicken is juicy and tender. Beef Brisket Baked Rice. Fork-tender chunks of stewed beef brisket drenched in feisty sauce with a golden layer of melted cheese. The taste is quite good and but the beef was quite little in portion.Apple-art Parfait. Curated with chic precision, this artistic trio of golden-baked apple tart, calvados parfait and caramelised apple deglazed with white wine will astound you with a seductive caramel sauce. The presentation and layout of the dessert is so creative and innovative. Despite that, the taste was just passable but not impressive. The mousse kind layer is kinda sour. Pinana Landing. A surreal tableau of warm pineapple frangipane oozing vanilla custard surrounded by fresh banana and chocolate coconut tree is your sensational dream escapade. The best combination of chocolate and banana as dessert never goes wrong. The layout of dessert is so artistic and presentable with beach theme. Puffy Triplets. Sink your sweet tooth into three profiteroles with rich chocolate ice-cream atop a fine almond-espresso financier. Spectacularly indulgent! The puff is good so as the ice cream atop. . continue reading

Prawn Cheese-a-toast (Baked)Prawns do not really taste fresh. There were cheddar cheese toppings on top of the baguette slices. Overall, taste was acceptable. The fish itself was okay though. It was soft and tender and portion was reasonable and rather filling. Can't remember how much it was but I felt that it wasn't worth the price. However, I will still be willing to go back for their pastas. continue reading

After my family's dinner at Shin Minori, we weren't really willing to go home just yet. We took one of those family walk at Robertson Quay and someone merely suggested...Anyone up for a cup of coffee? You could see the sparkle in our eyes! Like Hello? We just had a Japanese buffet dinner just half an hour ago? I suggested Canele Patisserie but well, they were already close for the day and so... we went over to TCC @ Robertson Quay!Colombia Supremo ($7.90). A decent cuppa with a cookie to go by...It was my brother, Eddie first time to TCC. He had a hard time deciding what should he get. I strongly recommended to him the Chocolate of Wealth ($8.00). It's my personal favorite! I find myself getting this almost every time I visit TCC! Just look at the swills of chocolate fudge! As as they say... It's sinful that's for sure What did I get right? Well, I wanted to try something new instead of the always having the same drink...Marble Cheese Coffee ($8.50). Initally, I thought it was some cheesecake infused drink. I guess the marble cheese comes from the grated cheese sprinkled on the top! Coffee and cheese maybe a weird combination... but surprisingly it turned out great! You slurp some cheese amidst the coffee and they just melt in your mouth! It was a whole new experience for me!How can we not have cakes while slurping coffee? Strawberry Yoghurt Roll ($5.80) A sponge based swiss roll with chunks of strawberries amidst a thick white yoghurt core and finish off with a layer of snow white cream. A very light cake, not overtly sweet. The strawberries were very sour though...I find TCC's cakes to be just alright, nothing special but they are cheaper than your usual dessert cafes.Which means I would often more than just two if I can afford that is.The Connoisseur Concerto is one of those place I would go more often compared to other coffee chains. It maybe much more expensive than your typical starbucks coffee but the quality is far from it! Remember what you pay for is not just the drinks/desserts/main course but the ambience as well. continue reading

I like the environment of this TCC branch. It feels like a hideout for me whereby I can watch the rest of city life pass by hastily, yet feel really relaxed in here, especially if I just plop myself against their soft sofa seats.Lobster BisqueIt's an even bigger bonus when the food is good. The tomato soup base has been infused with some lobster seafood flavour - really tasty! There are lots of ingredients in the soup too. The best part, surprisingly, has got to be the pastry. Served on butter-toasted french loaf, there are chunks of to-die-for lobster meat and fish roe all over. Love it! continue reading
