Some years back someone bought me some muffins which made me started on a search for the location of the place with just the name.Have always wanted to patronize this place to try out the other food that they offer which I only managed to do so a week ago.Upon entry, we were greeted by smiley staff who didn't mind me taking photos of the shop even before we make our order.Like other shophouses cafes, there are more seats available on the 2nd & 3rd level.Something interesting to note is that they have a rewards programme called "The Bean Programme". Interested? Participate in five simple steps. Now we are ready to attack the food. Let's take a look at the menu.Other than their well known muffins, other items that you can find in their menu includes sandwiches, tarts, homemade pies & quiches. All items are available in ala carte order or you can opt for a set. The set includes a muffin and a drink (except smoothies/alcoholic beverages) of your choice. However you can top up S$2 for a smoothie.I decided to try their sandwiches but there are so many varieties to choose and all looks tempting. So I ordered the Three Sliders and opted for a set.The flavours I chose were:1) Smoked Salmon2) Ham & Cheese3) The Char SiewThree Sliders (Ala Carte S$10, Set S$16.50)1) Smoked SalmonSalmon was fresh and combined with cream cheese making this simply delicious.2) Ham & CheeseThis was rather normal with no surprise factor.3) The Char SiewA unique variety in the menu. Meat is tender and overall combination is yummy. Just that it doesn't taste so much like char siew.Matcha Latte (Ala Carte S$4.50)My beverage choice for the set. This is really awesome. Strong matcha taste with just the right portion of milk.My friend loves quiches and the quiche of the day happens to be her favourite - Spinach & Mushroom Quiche. So she ordered the quiche and opted for a set too.Spinach & Mushroom Quiche (Ala Carte S$5.50, Set S$12)Quiches are known to be creamy and cheesy. The ones here are the same with the difference that it will not make you feel too greasy after eating it.Latte (Ala Carte S$4.50)A coffee lover's choice. Strong aroma and coffee taste. Coffee lovers must definitely try their coffee when visiting. As I have mentioned earlier, muffins are included in all set orders. Though they have sweet & savoury muffins but we opted for the sweet flavour as this is our aftermeal dessert.Double Chocolate and Lavender Lemon Muffin (Ala Carte S$2.80)Double Chocolate MuffinBaked with valrhona chocolate and two other types of chocolate chips. The muffin is moist and the chocolate taste makes this a chocolate lovers must have.Lavender Lemon MuffinAroma therapy!? Chose this as I find this flavour quite special. Not a flavour that many can appreciate as the lavender is a little too overpowering. The place to visit for chilling out with friends and enjoying a cuppa with some pastries. continue reading

Its a full house at lunch and many men with suits are seen in this cosy cafe. Pies and coffee were seen flying off shelves while i queue to order my food. Was half worried that the pie will be gone when i reach the cashier. Was really lucky when i am left with 1 of each pie to choose from. Chose the chilli beef pie and i was asked to find a seat and they will serve. Cut the pie top crust and the fillings were filled to the brim, very generous. And the best part is, it is moist and it is filling for a lunch.Tried their matcha latte this round as i seem to be addicted to their caramel latte all the time. Their matcha latte is not bad, it will be better if its extra hot. continue reading

Been hearing my colleagues saying that the muffins from muffinry was very nice, so decided to buy a few to pack home. There are quite a number of flavor for the muffins, both sweet & salted. So i bought 3 different flavors , 2 muffin for each flavor which cost me $16.80 Green Eggs & Ham - This is the 1st time i had tried a salty muffins so it was quite weird to me. It was filled with shredded ham and spring onion i supposed on the top. Orange Choc - slight citrus flavor but the muffin was abit too dry for me Apple Blueberry - continue reading

During the Night Festival, The Muffinry has setup a stall outside SMRT HQ. Although it is known for its muffins, but I decide to go for its salad as it sounds more interesting.Pesto Pasta Salad ($8)fusilli, cherry tomatoes, cheddar tossed in homemade pesto with salad topping Roast Chicken Breast ($2)The chicken is finely shredded and tastes quite flavourful and not dry. The pesto is quite tasty and not overwhelming. The only low point is the flies around the place, disturbing our meal. continue reading

Been hearing my friend talk about this place and finally had a chance to pass by this shop along telok ayer shophouse. I opted for a full box of 6 to bring home and let my family try, I chose apple blueberry crumble, spiced carrot, green eggs & ham, double chocolate, orange chocolate and banana chocolate. You should really check out the menu that they have where pictorially they tell you what makes up the muffin – they call that muffin-ology. Among these 6 flavours, I still like double chocolate the most follow by the banana chocolate. The rest was ok but did not excite me much. At $2.80 per muffin and complete with a nice packaging, it was a muffin craving fulfilled day for me. They also serve pies and sandwiches, perhaps I will consider coming back to visit them 1 day for lunch and coffee. continue reading
