It's been so long since my last visit to this hawker centre so was eager and happy to try out the food again. My brother went straight to this stall to order half a chicken and chicken feet salad.Oh my good when i took my first bite of the tender piece of chicken! Actually looks wise is already very good. I am so glad the taste is equally good too! The chicken skin is so smooth, it glide off the meat so easily. Love the salty sweet gravy that comes with the hainanese chicken. Very delightful dish! The chilled chicken feet skin salad is refreshing and fresh! Add a nice touch to the whole meal so it's worth ordering as well.We also had lor mee which is just few units away from this stall. Will post about it in the next review =) continue reading

I read about their chicken rice from ieatishootipost, and it was a pretty good review so I decided to try it when I was at Tiong Bahru Market. I was there on a Sunday at about noon time, and there was a queue of about 10 people in front of me. However the queue moved pretty quickly so I really didn't have to queue for long at all . I got myself the white chicken rice but with drumstick, hence I was prepared to pay about $1 more. Imagine my surprise when it was still the same price at $3! The rice was moist but didn't stick to each other, it was fragrant and nicely flavoured with garlic, ginger and chicken stock. The chicken was not bad, but can be smoother and more moist. Salted vegetables were also included. I also took some ginger sauce which was really terrible and watery. This spoiled the entire meal...I'd rather they didn't provide this at all. continue reading

I visited the Tiong Bahru Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice stall recently and ordered a pack of Chicken Rice as a takeaway. The rice had a fragrant aroma which lingered for about 30 minutes and the chicken's meat from the chicken rice is quite tasty. The portion is quite huge considering that it is only $2.50. Where can you find such good food at such a low price in Singapore nowadays? continue reading

For only $3, the chicken rice here is good and cheap. The rice itself it fragrant and light, not too hard nor soft with good chicken flavour from the stock and fat used to prepare it. Luckily, the rice is not too oily which appealed to my palate. The chicken being boneless is easy to eat and creates no mess. It is tender and the white chicken skin is smooth and the meat is bouncy. I liked this chicken rice quite a lot. continue reading

This Hainanese boneless chicken rice stall at Tiong Bahru Market is pretty well known and there is always a queue whenever i visit. I decided to try it out one day and was pretty satisfied with it. The chicken rice cost 3 dollars a packet and the rice was fragrant and delicious. The chicken was boneless which made it easy to eat and was succulent and juicy, with good flavour. continue reading
