My family decided to have Cze Cha at this Ah Pang Seafood Steamboat at Mei Chin Hawker Centre. But a funny thing was that we need to make reservation if we want to order Cze Cha dishes as they normally only sell steamboat.

We ordered Deep Fried Grouper, Claypot Tofu, Pepper Pork Chop and Three Cup Chicken.

The deep fried grouper was very fresh, the meat was smooth and tender. However, I felt that there was no sauce to go with the deep fried fish.

The claypot tofu was good, though it was not served in the claypot. The sauce had a "Wok Hei" and the tofu was slight crispy on the outside and silky tofu in the inside.

The pepper pork chop was average in taste. It was slightly dry and tough. I thought they should have use thicker meat so that inside will be more juicy.

The three cup chicken was good. There was "Wok Hei" and alcohol aroma from the claypot. The chicken meat was tender and juicy, there was also mild alcohol taste from the savoury oyster sauce.

Overall, the Cze Cha was good tasting with "Wok Hei" in many of thier dishes. The prices were also reasonable.

It was really crowded on weekend but to my surprise, the service was quite fast and we was served with quite a good spread of dishes within 15 mins. For the steamboat I must say, the soup base is rich and tasty. The pork and chicken meat were specially marinated to bring out a complete new flavor which I was fully impressed with the chef culinary skill! Our spread includes scallops, fish maw, sea water prawns, mixed plate, Shen yu fish slices, Hockchew fish balls and clams. By the way the Zhi Zhar waiting time was about 30 mins and I tried their hot plate oyster and "three cup chicken" which I find it to be of high standard in comparison with other restaurant. All I could say is go and try it for yourself and share your review with us.
