Ajisen is a popular restaurant which has been around for many years. I ordered the Cha Shu ramen which consists of a special, creamy and fragrant broth. It noodles are soft and just right for me. The cha Shu is really nice too. When eaten together, it is quite delicious. However, the egg is not the typical japanese half boiled egg which was quite disappointing.

Overall, the ramen is okay and value for money

You can opt for a meal instead of ala carte for the ramen as it is more worth it. For about $12.90 to $15.90, you can get a ramen of your choice, one side dish and a drink.

Ajisen Ramen has a perpetual ramen set option so it's always a good deal at their restaurant. This time, I ordered the Vegetable Curry Ramen (main) + fish cake (side dish) + green tea set all for only $13.90. The curry base wasn't too spicy and you can still taste the distinct pork bone flavour. Vegetables included are corn, cabbage, golden mushroom, shiitake mushrooms, carrots and some japanese seaweed. Vegetable lovers will definitely enjoy this! For the sidedish, I got the fish cake. Fish cak

This was a special item not found in the menu. As the saying goes, don't expect too much with free things. The noodles were tough and the minute toppings of bite-size char shu was cold and unsatisfying. However, I must still give due credits to the sauce which I found to be quite tasty.

Kumamoto Ramen Set ($14.90++)
This was definitely way better than the former. The soup base was rich and the noodles springy. However, we would very much prefer those runny eggs to the hardboiled egg served. The char shu was quite tasty though we found it a tad too tough.

I was craving for something hot and spicy so i went to Ajisen with my sister for dinner. I ordered their Tom Yum Pork ramen. their tom yum soup was really good, not too spicy. The acidity level was just right. Their pork was just plainly boiled, not marinated at all but because it was so thinly sliced, it absorbed the tom yum soup pretty quickly. The ramen is very springy and QQ. It was a good meal, totally satisfied my craving.

I love the addition of the tom yum series to Ajisen's ramen. I ordered their chicken karage tom yum ramen. it was so good! the tom yum soup was so tasty. it was not too spicy. i like the acidity level, not too sour. for those who finds it not spicy enough, they provided a lime for you to squeeze. the chicken karage soaked in the tom yum soup tasted really good. they coated the chicken with this nice batter, very fragrant, mixed with the tom yum soup. it was to die for. i ordered a set which incl

i always like ajisen's gyoza and would order that at my side. this time when i saw they had it as the main course, of course i ordered that. there were ten pieces of gyoza and two pieces of fried chicken. the chicken was very juicy and very fragrant. the gyoza itself is very tasty. i like the dip, a little sourish and salty. the rice is very chewy and sticky. i like the soup, very tasty too.

I went to ajisen with my girlfriend. i always thought ajisen's speciality is their ramen so i always ordered their ramen. this time round i gave their rice set a chance. i ordered their mapo toufu rice set. it was pretty reasonably charged, $10.90 for a set. you can top up money for drinks and side dishes but i did not. the mapo toufu dish has quite a number of prawns in it. the prawns they used were very fresh and the meat was very succulent.

Ajisen is always coming out with new kind of ramen so that you would not be eating the same stuff all the time. This time round, they had the black pepper series. I ordered the black pepper shabu shabu ramen. I opted for the set meal as well. their black pepper is pretty good, it gave the soup a peppery taste. The meat is sliced so thinly, yet you can chew it too. I think it is a good addition, I hope it becomes a fixture in the menu.

Ordered the corn salad ($5.90) as appetizer and we asked to separate the roe and mayo.
This turns out to be a wise decision as they seem to give more of each ingredient! (CHEAPO TRICK!)
Later on, we added the remaining corn, cucumber and crabstick to our ramen, making it seem like a veggie ramen! haha!

The spicy ramen was on to the anniversary special menu. Cost $7.90
I think it was quite spicy as they added chilli padi to the soup and left it inside to brew for awhile or sth. SPICY SPICY!
The chef gave generous servings of seaweed and bean sprout! I like that they were not stingy about somethings so cheap in cost!

We also ordered the paiku ramen set, i tried one piece of meat (didn;t really like pork), and felt that it was soft and tender. The pai ku (soft bone) is also v. nutritious. Gives calcium to the eater! Set cost $15.90 and it comes with a side and drink.

I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!(:
