We were there for their lunch set promos which starts from $10.90.For the price,it includes a bowl of ramen+a side dish +a drink of your choice which was quite reasonable.I had the charsiew ramen with fried gyoza and iced lemon tea.The taste of the ramen was average but portion is good.Thr fried gyoza is normal too,i dont personally like the ice lemon tea as it is too sour and abit bitter for me. continue reading

Having wet weather, makes one want to have something hot and soupy for lunch. So we have lunch at Ajisen Ramen. I am having the scallop ramen lunch set which costs $11.90++. It includes a drink and a side dish. There is a choice of either ice lemon tea or green tea for drink, and a choice of either gyoza or cuttlefish for side dish. I like the gyoza which has rather thin skin. The ramen is not bad and not too salty. continue reading

We decided to settle at the Ajisen Ramen Restaurant at Ngee Ann City for dinner as there isnt much crowd even though it's dinner time.Between me & my friend, we ordered a Paiku Ramen ($11) & a Curry Cutlet Miso Ramen ($12).The Paiku Ramen is okay, some of the Paiku tasted burnt but I really like the soup base. It's simple & flavourful, not overwhelmed with too many ingredients. For the Curry Cutlet Miso Ramen, the Chicken Cutlet is nicely fried but I didnt taste any curry in both the Chicken & the broth. The broth tasted very strongly of vegetables, especially of cabbage.. I didnt really like it.We also upgraded 1 of the ramen to a set, adding $3.90 for a plate of Agedashi Tofu & a cup of iced lemon tea. The Agedashi tofu is very nice, not too salty. Recommended. continue reading

Soupy noodles for Dinner at Takashimaya. The food court at Taka is always so packed that it is even hard to find a seat for just 2 people. So we made do with Ajisen Ramen located at the other end of it.We had Char Siew Ramen and seafood ramen. Just the ala carte ramen from the menu. I like the soup broth not so salty. Charsiew is of a reasonable size, nothing much to complain with the price that we are paying. As for the seafood ramen, it consists of scallops, prawns and sotong. Seafood lovers will like it as the seafood ingredients which they use are really fresh. Recommended for reasonable price ramen at Ajisen. continue reading

It is the Christmas and New Year period so headed to town to enjoy the joyous atmosphere with my girlfriend. We settled for Ajisen at Takashimaya for dinner. I ordered their set meal with include a ramen, a side dish and a drink. For my main course, I opted for the pork curry ramen. I like the soup of the ramen, despite being curry flavor, it did not have the strong curry flavor but tasted like soup with curry fragrance. the pork is sliced till very finely and goes well with the curry soup. for my side, I got the gyoza. There were five pieces and a dip. The gyoza were pretty small in size but tasted very juicy and delicious. It goes especially well with the dip. continue reading
