This indoor attraction is indeed a treasure within Great World City, and I'd have never known that if not for the OpenRice tasting session.

 The plating was really adorable, with the eggs and tomatoes separated from the rest. This makes the yolk stay really fresh (usually, the yolk is blackened at its radius). The lettuce remained crisp and the dressing was perfectly well balanced. Sometimes, there is a lot of residual liquid / dressing left behind but this dish doesn't!

 This organized mess is an enjoyable delight for me — and I think it's quite worth it for its price! It's quite difficult to go wrong with chocolate and vanilla.

Other items which we've tried are:
Chef Nasi Gorengs - $12.70
Love it, love it, love it! The yolk remained runny while the satay had the smoky grilled flavour... its quite comparable to Lau Pat Sat satay eh.

Spicy Garlic Tiger Prawn - $15.20
Unfortunately, the tiger prawns were gone as I arrived an hour late— hence, my review will not be accurate for this dish.

Apple Juice - $5
Skip this drink unless you're really thirsty and have no other choice. It doesn't taste like freshly squeezed apple juice as there wasn't any pulp... quite exorbitantly priced for a glass of apple juice *gasps*.

 How I wish I could turn back time and hold my birthday parties here! It's a wonderful place for a child's imagination— so much magic can happen at the various themed party rooms.

 Initially, I thought this was a haunted house because the decorations look quite creepy in the dark. Complete with 3D Glow in the dark artwork and motion props, this section features various themes such as Under the Sea, Pirates and Dinosau. I never thought that I could have so much fun trying to put golf balls into holes!

I recently had the pleasure of attending a tasting session with OpenRice at this one-of-a-kind recreation centre, so this post will inevitably focus on the highlights of the bistro!

Amazonia had picked out some of their star dishes for this session, and while there were some hits and misses for me, the sheer variety on offer ensures everyone is bound to find something on the menu that hits the spot.

Our four-course tasting menu consisted of:
- Caesar Avocado Salad
- Chef Nasi Goreng
- Sweet & Spicy Garlic Tiger Prawn
- Chocolate Fondant with Ice Cream

The salad certainly stood out in its use of creamy avocado chunks, which are not usually found in Caesar salads. It definitely was a welcome addition for me! Besides this, you get all you would expect in a Caesar salad, such as croutons, eggs, olives and tomatoes. In particular, the croutons remained crisp instead of turning soggy, and so did the lettuce leaves.

 No surprises in the nasi goreng, which came with all the usual accoutrements such as prawn crackers, chicken drumsticks, satay and an over-medium egg. The rice was thoroughly aromatic and flavourful, providing a beautiful base for the various accompaniments. While the satay was fragrant and tender, the drumsticks paled in comparison, being rather hard and dry.

 The tiger prawns arrived on a bed of fragrant fluffy white rice, with an assortment of greens on the side. While there wasn't anything particularly wrong with this dish, I felt it could be made more complete with some garnishes and spices in the rice. That would also go some way in justifying the rather high price of this dish.

 Rounding off the session was the Chocolant Fondant, which came topped with a generous dollop of ice cream. It was wonderfully rich and creamy, as might be expected with a dessert like that. The fondant was also studded with crunchy chocolate buttons that tasted of surprisingly high quality.

 As part of the event, we were also shown around the various play areas within the maze-like entertainment complex. The inner-child in me was indeed coaxed out, as I marvelled at the various games rooms, ball pits, slides, trampolines, bridges and tunnels that transported me into a whole universe of fantasy. Amazonia even has a surreal glow-in-the-dark themed recreational golf course in which I spent more time admiring the creative setup than doing any real putting!

I would say Amazonia has indeed succeeded in bringing us a unique brand of family fun and dining, with an entertainment setup that is sure to charm any youngster's heart. It certainly offers a safe and wholesome enthralling escape from the daily rigours of your little ones' lives, whatever they may be! Some of the bistro's offerings, however, may need to be reviewed to see how they can provide more value for the prices charged.

     The idea of incorporating a Bistro to the Fun Centre was definitely a very good step forward for such activities centre in terms of the market requirements nowadays. Further more, the Jungle Themed bistro is a good place for parents to rest and relax under the shades while watching their children enjoying their fun time.

     The 400 square metres gym is equipped with an 8 meter high slide shown in the middle of the picture and completed with tunnels, suspension bridges, ball pit and even trampoline to excite children from ages 3 to 12 years.

    Starting our appetizer with the Chef Recommended Ceasar Avocado Salad which includes refreshing crunchy Romaine lettuce, sliced Avocado, olives, cherry tomato, hard boiled eggs, grated cheese, bacon bits, garlic croutons and grilled chicken breast in Ceasar Dressing. Such appetizer is light and hearty in preparing to welcome the main courses.

    Another recommendation from the Chef is none other than the popular food known in Asia, Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice). Color presentation of the food alluring besides the food items on plate.

    Being truly Asian, you will get to see familiar items on the plate like mild spicy Nasi Goreng, fried chicken drumstick, chicken satay, sunny side up egg, keropok and Ah-Char. Satay was undeniably good in its tender meat and tasty marinate which made us could not resist, thus requesting for separate Satay helpings.

    While the drumsticks were huge and dressed in its glistering "suit", its meat was quite tough and we had took some time to battle with it.

     2 Pieces of marinated tiger prawn was grilled in garlic sweet and spicy sauce. Together with the spicy kick of the Sambal Chilli, it was very tasty and definitely spelled out the characteristics of our local delicacy with banana leaf as base. On top of having the prawns, freshly cooked vegetables were served with steam rice too.

    Desserts

    Here comes the sweet treat after finishing the mains. Chocolate Fondant topped with vanilla ice-cream is a perfect closure to the meal. The ice cream was adorn with mint leaves and the dessert was surrounded by button chocolates and chocolate fudge on the plate. Cake was moist and with rich semi sweet chocolate fondant in it. Yummy!

     Amazonia Bistro is not limited to the kids as they have also extended their invitation to nearby office working class for an Office Express Lunch from 12-3pm with games to destress themselves.

    Personally, I enjoyed the most from the space ball room. Room was painted with their special glow in the dark artwork. illustrating a wonderful space environment with a resident alien watching over its territory.

     You can also get a party experience in Amazonia for your kid's birthday. They have 2 theme party rooms, one for the boy and the other for the girls holding up to as many as 40 children. Scheduled with interesting games and activities, Amazonia will leave a good memory on your child's special day.

     Come this July, they will be marking their 5th Anniversary. With such successful concept in Singapore, Amazonia has spreaded it wings into Jarkata, Indonesia which has 4 times the space of current location in Singapore. Other than kids party and school group's learning journey, they are open to corporate group dynamics, events like team building, thus if you think that Amazonia is only for kids, its not so in this case!

     Chocolate Fondant Cake ($7.50): As a dessert lover, I enjoyed this. It's like a lava cake because the slightly molten chocolate filling flowed out (though quite slowly) upon cutting the cake. The chocolate was rich, but the scoop of ice cream melted really fast.

    Overall, decent food here, though I wouldn't choose to dine here given the other food options within Great World City.

     Ceasar Salad with Avocado was served as Appetizer. I felt the serving was too little to be shared among us. Priced at $13.80 with a combination of fresh crunchy Romaine lettuces, sliced boiled eggs, cherry tomatoes and diced avocado. To my taste bud the dressing is a bit too sour.

    I prefer that the dressing for the salad  to be provided separately.

     Chef Nasi Goreng was one of the two main courses served at the food tasting session.

    We had double the serving to cater for this event. Despite the additional serving, I find it too little to be shared among the four of us.

    Two pieces of drumsticks served with fried rice. Accompanied with pickled Achar goes well with the combination. The drums slightly on the dry side but yet tasty goes well with the sambal. I enjoyed the satay and requested for a little more serving. Dominic was very obliging and provided us with additional four sticks of satay.

    The standard serving for Chef Nasi Goreng priced at $12.70.

     The other main course was the Spicy Garlic Tiger Prawns served with white rice together with a plate of sambal chilli and sautéed long beans and shredded carrots.

    Priced at $15.20, the grilled spicy garlic tiger prawns shared among the four of us was too little. At least each person should have a reasonable piece.

     Chocolate Fondant with Ice Cream was served as dessert. We only had a spoonful to taste the richness of the chocolate and vanilla ice cream since the serving was again very small. The combination of the ice cream and the chocolate was tasty and I highly recommend this dessert.

     After dinner we had the opportunity to try our hands on the Spaceball.

    Amazonia space theme, glow in the dark, 3D room allows a group of upto 8 players to shoot it out against computerized timer and electronic scoreboard. Full of action and excitement as OpenRicers trying to avoid the balls coming to our direction.

    Amazonia Singapore, indoor family fun center with own themed bistro, they do provide attrations that also cater for adult like us. nd good to know that Amazonia do offer the corporate rate for team building session. On this coming july, it marks as their 5th years anniversarry. The expanding business has allowed them to have a sister outlet in Jakarta

    Caesar Salad With Avocado ( $13.80 )
    Served with number of dishes such as grilled juicy chicken breast, olives, bacon bits and fresh vegetable of romaince lettuce with a decoration of cherry tomato and hard boiled egg at the side. On top of that the spreading of grated cheese, crunchy garlic crouton and sliced avocado with a mix of casear dressing make the salad enjoyable as the starter.

    Chef Nasi Gorengs ( $12.70)
    It looks like an Indonesia / Malay Food. If you are spicy lover, the mild spicy Nasi Goreng
    definitely would be your favorite ! The most favorite from this meal isn't the Nasi Goreng
    ' Fried Rice' but is the satay ! Oh No ! Can we have more satay ??
    I would be happier to have to have more Acar instead of Chicken though it looks tempting !
    Sad to say that the chicken wasn't that good - dry and not tender whereas the Acar taste nicer. Hope they can improve on it after the feedback

    Served with a Steam Rice and Fresh Vegetable of long beans and carrot aside to the tender and soft meat of marinated tiger prawn with garlic sweet & spicy sauce. The marinated sauce isn't spicy at all in fact it is quite delightful instead of the provided sambal.

    Chocolate Fondant with Ice Cream
    As what the dessert name describe of, Yes ! there is a Fondant inside the cake. Pop a small slice of its cake with a small spoon in the middle, take out the spoon, you will see the lava chocolate. The more that you cut, the more that the fondant will spreading down. 
    The ice cream was sitting on top on the fondant, melting down quite fast.
    Scoop the ice cream, eat it with the fondant, enjoy the dessert

    Ceasar Salad with Avocado ($13.80) - Pretty normal, nothing great but you won't go wrong especially if you like greens

    Chef Nasi Goreng ($12.70) - The rice was too spicy for my liking and the drumstick was tough and tasteless.
    Spicy Garlic Tiger Prawns ($15.20) - Basically white rice with 2 garlic tiger prawns with chill on its side. Prawns were alright but the rice was a tad too wet.

    Apple Juice ($5) - Cool and refreshing on a hot sunny day, but pricey

    Chocolate Fondant with Ice Cream - Those with a sweet tooth will like this but I find it a bit too sweet for my liking.
    Verdict : Unless you have kids who are at Amazonia for play, and you would like to have a munch while waiting for them, looking for other food outlets within GWC would be a better bet.

    Comes with chilli on the side.

    Overall verdict : 

    Eat only if there is no choice, or you can find better food elsewhere.

     Four sticks of satay, two fat drumsticks, fried egg and some keropok crackers. The drumstick and satay were the bomb for the food tasting session. Nasi Goreng is just an exotic name for Fried Rice in Indonesian style.

This place is definitely the place for the young-at-hearts, with some cool activities you can do there and not forgetting the tasty food at their bistro.     The place was quite easy to find, located at Level 3 of Great World City. However, access to Great World is a bit inconvenient though, unless the Great World MRT Station opens earlier before year 2021. If you have got kids, this is definitely the place where you will want to bring them to, allowing them to play on their own while giving yourself some time to chat with your friends or shop around.
    We tried a total of 4 dishes + 1 drink (Apple Juice) and my personal favourite are their Chef Nasi Goreng & Chocolate Fondant with Ice Cream. The Nasi Goreng was spicy to my liking and the satay meat was tender, but i thought that the chicken drumstick was so-so only though. As for the Chocolate Fondant with Ice Cream, the cake iself was soft and delicious. If only they have some chocolate sauce in it and the portion of the ice cream given can be slightly bigger.
    I am not a fan of salad, but i thought the dressing for their Ceasar Salad with Avocado was good. As for the Spicy Garlic Tiger Prawn, the prawn itself was huge and i especially like the sambal chili that goes along with it. If they have the option to change their plain rice for this dish for the Nasi Goreng, i would definitely go for it!

    After the tasting session, we were given a tour around the premises, and of course given the chance to try their Spaceball & 3D Glow Golf. The rooms for these 2 activities glow-in-the-dark, and even the adults can play too! The Spaceball was fun but after a while, it sort of got boring as we only have to aim & shoot for the stationary targets. It would have been better if the targets are mobile, but you can always try and shoot your friends too! For the 3D Glow Golf, the place is huge with 9 stations/holes, each with its own obstacles (Moving Dinosaur/Pirates etc). The wall murals here were all hand-painted! Took quite a while for us to complete all 9 holes, but definitely a fun and enjoyable experience!

    Do give this place a visit if you are around the area, or if you are planning for any events! =)

    Other Info. : The place can get a bit noisy when it is crowded, especially when there are a lot of kids around. They cater to corporate events and team bonding sessions as well!

    The main course is CHEF NASI GORENG, fried rice. The portion offered was larger than usual portion , with 2 drum stick instead of just one in a standard serving. Also the satay is 4 stick instead of 2 stick in standard serving. Each standard serving is $12.70 .

    We had 3 of these fired rice to share among the group so each got a small bite to taste. The rice is nice, moist and not too dry. The fried drum stick is very tasty, not dried, and goes well with the chilli. The satay is also very nice. I like that it is serve hot , unlike some places the dish are put together with the rice pre-fired and the drum stick pre-fried, so its served cold. At least the one we had was hot and tasty.

    Another main dish we tried is SPICY GARLIC TIGER PRAWN, which is consist of 2 tiger prawn and white rice. Each standard serving is $15.20
    While the tiger prawn is indeed look big but since its fried with garlic, the meat shrink to small portion, so dont be surprise that if you remove the shell of the tiger prawn you dont see much meat. Also we had 3 plate of this to share among the group of 11, we each have half side of the prawn to have a taste. It is tasty, with the spicy and garlic smell. But since its not much meat, really this dish is not that exciting. Since its serve with white rice, I dont think the white rice can do anything to help elevate this dish.

    Lastly we get to taste the dessert , a smallish CHOCOLATE FONDANT with ICE CREAM. each of us has one quarter of the dessert with is a spoonful and its enough to taste the rich chocolate and the vanilla ice cream is a good pairing. Would recommend this .

    In summary, this is a nice place for some games, we tried a mini golf game in the dark and visited the Party room. So the bistro is really a complimentary to the whole place. Nevertheless, the dishes is tasty, and I recommend the dessert.

    Grill prawn with white rice is not to my liking because I personally like chewy texture prawns. This grill prawns is very soft and mashy. 

    Didn't get to taste the ice cream but the chocolate fondant have rich chocolate and taste not too bad. Would be better if the chocolate in the centre can be more liquid and glory. 

    However, the games such as the space ball and mini Golf are very interesting. The rooms are for children's party are very well decorated although a bit small.  Hence, I conclude that this will be a better place for children, games and children parties. The cafe is good to have for parents and family when they bring the children there to play and hold parties.
