The reason for me to name this restaurant as the best makan place in Singapore because you cannot find the cheapest food anymore. Their Nasi Lemak Set A or B is selling at $2.00 and their local delight chicken rice is selling at $1.80. Moreover, they are located nearby the neighbourhood MRT station such as Admiralty, Bukit Batok, Clementi and Paya Lebar.Especially breakfast, you can get a mountain of fried kway teow for $2.I discovered this restaurant was 4 years ago while I have nothing to do after getting off the train at Paya Lebar. Subsequently, I realised that it was rather popular in most of the MRT stations who specialises in providing Halal food that is fast to be served to hungers like me.Note: Please do not packet the food because of the potential risk of getting Macular Degeneration due to hot food in plastic packets can cause you blind.

Ananas Cafe. Many of us probably know its existence long ago for it was rather popular in most of the MRT stations. Strategically located in MRT station, they add as a convenience to many of the commuters who are rushing home after work for a meal. The aroma from the cooking had never failed to tempt me everything as I passed by the stations after work. At an attractive and economical pricing of $2, we get a decent packet of roasted chicken rice. It's hard to find such portion at similar pricing nowadays. Chicken was dry and may not be that fantastic but its good enough to fill one's stomach.Cost: $2If you are bored of having chicken rice, try out their nasi lemak. With a good selection of food items on plate of Nasi Lemak like chicken wing, fish cake, egg and otah, pricing is comparable to those selling in the coffee shop. As for the environment, few tables and chairs were setup. They were not meant for staying long as the place was rather stuffy and warm. So if you are hungry after alighting from public transports, you may consider Ananas.

Ananas cafe offers a variety of food for people who are in a hurry to somewhere, for them to grab some budget food to fill up their stomach. As I was in a hurry to work, I decided to just grab a $2.20 nasi lemak set meal for breakfast. The meal is simple - 1 chicken wing and 1 sunny side up with rice. The rice is okay, definitely not the best nasi lemak I had. The chicken wing is... oily and I feel a little sick after eating it. The sunny side up wise is ok, since I like my egg to be well done. For the price, I think there's nothing to complain about. Buy, eat and go.

Looking for a budget meal? The chicken rice here (whether its the hainanese white chicken or the crispy roasted version), both are selling at merely two dollars per plate. The rice is quite fragrant and the portion is just alright for an adult . The chicken meat here is quite tender and juicy. Even though they are selling it at such a cheap price, you will not be disappointed by the standard of the food at all, except the portion may not look that much. The chilli sauce is more towards the sour version which is quite appetitzing and refreshing.

Had Ananas Café for dinner beside the MRT station as I was rushing home after dinner. Ordered set meal B, which is the nasi lemak. Found it abit too oily, both for the chicken wing and the rice. Could do better with less oil. I got quite sick towards the end that I could not finish the plate of rice.
