The cafe was located just across the bus stop, second level of the shop house. Just walk up from the stairs from the side. The place was fairly empty when we reached but was packed with a queue by the time we left.Arbite Breakfast ($18++)Scrambled eggs, bacon, roasted chickpea, tomato, and basil salad, pork Cumberland sausage, sauteed locally farmed mushrooms, toasted brioche and pommes noisettesThe serving was quite big, with a bit of everything. Duck and Eggs ($14++)Poached eggs, duck rillette, sauteed locally farmed mushrooms, hollandise, croissant and fresh greensThe croissant was light and crispy, which cut through easily, topped with the creamy duck rillette.Coco Amethyst ($6++)Coconut water, blue pea flower syrup + lime juiceThe drink turned to a lighter shade of purple colour after pouring in the lime juice. The drink was refreshing to have especially when outside was so hot.Fresh Strawberry Milkshake ($7++)Served with whipped creamThe drink was rich and creamy without too sweet. continue reading

After successfully hunting down the cafe, we were welcomed by a clean and chic interior. Amongst the 3 of us, we had:1) Mushroom Soup - this came as part of a set and it's quite good. Not out of a can for sure.2) Seared Seabass in cream sauce - expected fishy taste but it was actually very delightful. Flavourful but not heavy with the cream sauce.3) Baked Seafood Pasta - fresh ingredients with the pasta done al dente. Though I found the pasta slightly bland, easily fixed with a few dash of salt.4) Hamburger - daughter had that she liked it enough.5) Cheesecake - these came complimentary because my daughter was enjoying her lunch with such looks of happiness. Haha... Cheesecake was nice enough. Not the heavy type without losing the flavour. Will return if in the area. continue reading

Arbite is quite a charming little place right smack in the middle of Serangoon Gardens Circus. You climb upstairs and if you're lucky, a nice window seat will let you have a good view of the circus outside. What attracted me there was that they serve all day breakfast! The Eggs Benedict which I had was done with prosciutto instead of regular ham, and together with the eggs and hollandaise sauce, but I felt it was rather run of the mill. However my friend commented that the salad that she had was done with fresh vegetable and really sweet tomatoes. continue reading

And affordable too. I've probably walk passed this place many years, but never once i thought to step in to take a look until one of my foodie friends swear by it. Its located at the second floor and quite a cosy place.I ordered the french toast with berry compote and the ginseng panna cotta. The french toast was quite normal. Nothing really fantastic. It comes with chocolate, whip cream drips and maple syrup at the side. The ginseng panna cotta is an interesting one. Its cream infused with ginseng and wolfberries served with a honey and chrysanthemum sorbet. The sorbet came melted.. not sure if i was there too early for the dessert or? Other than the presentation, i enjoyed the dessert more. continue reading

One of the nicest brunch places to have brunch at, in my opinion would be Arbite! Located in Serangoon near Chomp Chomp Food Centre, Arbite has a solid reputation and serves quality brunch at decent prices. Strangely enough, me and my girlfriend decided to have dinner there and we ordered 2 dishes: Eggs Benedict (as always with all Brunch places) and frittata!Eggs Benedict were decently made - The poached eggs were soft and fluffy, prepared nicely and went very well with the ham and toast! THe hollandaise sauce was divine as well and complimented the eggs and ham very well. The frittata was extra special as its an italian open style omelette stuffed with all kinds of ingredients such as asparagus, onions, mushrooms and cheese! Good portion and awesome mix of flavours really made my day at Arbites! Arbite does offer many other dining options and dishes as well other than all day breakfast, so do give those a try! Seats are limited, so do be prepared to wait if you walk in! continue reading
