Signature Dishes
I had ordered grilled fish with herb with mac n cheese and wedges at Astons. This is my first time trying Astons wedges. It was nice and I really like it a lot! It was hot and the wedges was well marinated. The mac and cheese was also one of the best i had eaten. The cheese was like spread and the macroni was boiled till soft. However, i think the herbs sauce was too diluted, it would be better if it was can be thicker. This stall was a bit packed during weekends, thus it is not suggested to go if you are unwilling to wait.

Wanna go to somewhere near by bus rather than squeezing in the forever pack MRT.Suggested Thomsom Astons, have not been there for food before. Thomson is famous for all the shop houses with food along the road. As the name suggested, Aston Express is because they give all diners a time keeper. When it starts vibrating and lighting up, food is ready for self collection at the collection counter. We have to take our own utensil, serviets and sauce. This tends to cut short the waiting time from the usual restaurant. Double up chicken ( fried chicken and teriyaki chicken) with onion rings and coleslaw. Chargrill chicken with garden veggie and french fries.

It was a fruitful day on Christmas as we visited S.E.A Aquarium for the whole day. After the sight-seeing, we decided to have Astons for dinner. Astons has many branches around singapore which served affordable and delicious western cuisine.We went to one of the branch located at upper thomson road coffeeshop. Since it is located at the coffeeshop, it is self-sevice counter where we placed order and make payment on the spot.We then wait for our foods to be ready and self- collection is required.Here goes the foods that we ordered that night. I decided to go for chargrill chicken with 2 choice of side dishes @ S$6.50. I choose baked potato and corn on the cob. Chargrill chicken is my all time favourite choice as the chicken is nicely grilled and goes well with the sauce. My friend ordered Chicken Burger @S$4.90. The portion was just nice for us as bread can be filling. No much comment of the burger but the hamburger meat was tender and chewy with the cheese and sauce.If you are looking for affordable and decent western cuisine, why not try Astons? The price is decent and par value with the serving portion.

Not the first time, but having the option to sit down and have your food inform you that it is time to collect it, is very convenient. I would not need to stand and wait while people are crowding around. The sauces are located near the serving counter and is self service. This is an all out express counter! Baked potato could use more steaming though
