Ayam Penyet - $6.80 (+ additional $0.90 for white rice). Smashed fried chicken served with fried beancurd, tempe (soy beancake), crispy bits, and burning hot sambal (it was really torturing, me who cannot take too spicy food got stomachache so bad
). The chicken was well-seasoned, crispy skinned, and the meat was tender. The soft fried beancurd instantly became the highlight of this dish.

I had Ayam Penyet for dinner today! The first time i tried this dish, i didn't get to try much as i was sharing it with my colleagues (and we ordered a few other dishes too). The Ayam Penyet came with rice, which completes the meal. The skin was crispy (nice!) and the chicken tender and succulent (fantastic!). The chilli sauce was super good. It was so spicy (super shiok!). But spicy till i can only take little bits of it with each mouthful and still end up feeling on fire after eating it. (I didn't try the chilli the first time i came as some of my colleagues don't take chilli. So i am glad i came back for another visit!) Anyway the portion is quite big and so it's worth the price. It also came with some vegetables, fried tofu and others. The meat is plentiful as well so it definitely fills one's stomach nicely. I didn't encounter much bones, which is good. Its easy to eat without having to resort to using hands to peel the chicken into smaller bits.

However i do think their normal drinks like Ice Lemon Tea is a bit overpriced. It tastes like Season's ILT (which i believe so, since i eyed a few 1.5L bottles in the kitchen) and it cost $2.05 for a glass that's half filled with ice.

I went around 5.25pm and the place wasn't very crowded. A bunch of staff were also chatting at the cashiering area.

Still, the Ayam Penyet is the star of the show. If you drop by, try their specialty drinks instead of opting for ILT or coffee or tea.

Upon hearing good reviews about this place, me and friend came here to try out the very famous Ayam penyet! As for Ayam Bakar, is actually grilled chicken with the very strong and nice sauce ( don't really know what's the sauce but trust me, it taste perfect with the chicken). It served with the same sides as well.

We ordered
1) Ayam Penyet $6.00
2) Ayam Bakar $6.00
3) Kangkong $4.90

The white rice is $0.80 each, as for the Nasi kuning ( yellow rice, aka turmeric rice) cost $2.00.
I think $2.00 for a small plate of yellow rice was a little costly, but it tasted well.

Overall, the quality of food was really good, but I hope the chicken can be a little bigger.
I will definately go back again!

This is one of the few shops serving Ayam Penyet in Lucky Plaza. I came specially for other one but it happened to be closed on that day so i went for this one as an alternative choice. We also ordered one of their special drink to share. It is orange juice with coconut in it for $3.80. It tasted rather strange. The orange juice tasted a little diluted with a rather minimum level of sweetness. It served with a handful of ice cube with shredded coconut. I did not quite appreciate the taste.

Ayam Bakar. We were given the choice of thigh or breast meat. We wanted the breast meat. It was nicely grilled before applied a layer of sweet soya sauce to enhance the flavor. The chicken has got a noticeably tenderness. It was served with a slice of cucumber and tomato with long bean and a piece of raw cabbage. The hot chilli soya sauce was served along too. The spiciness and saltiness were rather well-balanced.

Ayam Penyet was another good choice. The chicken breast was fried to perfection to achieve a delightful crispiness. The chicken was 'penyet-ed' to soften the meat. Perhaps I did not eat enough of ayam penyet to do a comparison as I actually enjoyed this particular ayam penyet very much. The sambal chilli was served separately. The level of spiciness was not as fiery as expected. I guess the spiciness has been adjusted to suit the locals well.

If you like to eat really crispy chicken with lots of crispy crumbs topped on it, the chicken here will be your right choice. They have used their secret recipe to marinate their chickens and all parts are really juicy and tender. The chilli may be too spicy for most of us but is nice. The rice is fragrant and goes well with the chicken. The portion is quite alright and the price is descent.

Venue: Nothing to see, at the upper floor of Lucky Plaza, next to some bar.Value: Not worth the time or money.Service: PoorFood: Terrible! Had some spicy nondescript dish with rice and some other spicy nondescript dish. We ordered chicken and vegetables, spicy style. But what came out didn't look like chicken or vegetables and didn't taste like it either. Asked for normal tap water in a glass and got bottles of water instead. We had to pay extra for the bottled water.

I ordered a Indonesian Milk Tea and it was the worst tea I ever had. I took a few sip and that's it I couldn't drink it as I can't stand the smell of it. The smell is like the smell at Golden Mile Complex where Vietnam or Thai ingredients can be found.

Avocado $3.80

The Ayam Penyet here wasn't fantastic it was so so only and for the price it was not worth it. If ever someone tell you the Ayam Penyet at Lucky Plaza is nice, please make sure you get the restaurant name as the whole entire Lucky Plaza has a lot of stalls or restaurants selling Ayam Penyet!

It's authentic as it gets, don't forget to ask for the kecap manis when it's served!
And they really serve fast, in 5 minutes time, so for those who are really hungry, this is the place to eat! Hot warm rice accompanies the soft chicken meat.

Heard a lot of raves from my muslim friends and finally decided to go try it out! Honestly, i don't get why the raves as the dishes were rather simple indon cuisines. All were deep fried and i find it rather difficult to eat. The only thing i like is their "tempeh" which is made of yellow beans. And the fried tofu which is crispy on the outside and soft silky on the inside. Overall, was okay only! As for the desserts, it is normal like other coffeeshop ones but here, it is more expensive.
