The ayam penyet was actually a flatten fried drumstick. The battered skin taste quite good like those fried chicken fastfood.

However, the chicken meat was quite over cooked and dry. The bones were also smashed with the chicken meat made eating a bit more troublesome.

When my friends first introduced me to this place I was rather confused as to why we were dining at a place where a plate of ayam penyet dish would cost more than $7 when we could have gone to any other hawker centre which sells them at $4 or less. However the first bite I took of that dish really blew all my doubts away. It was one of the best ayam penyet I have ever tasted. The chicken was crispy and tender and moist. The chicken was crispy and tender and moist. And the most attractive part about the dish was it's chili - which was spicy in a good way
I think I'm becoming addicted to this place, and if the price is a little more affordable I'll confirm make it one of my regular hangouts.

We haven't tried the ayam penyet before even though we had been to Jurong Point countless of times so we decided to dine in there for our dinner. Sorry for the smaller photo of my ayam penyet as I accidentally pressed something on my camera and the following shots are all very much smaller. Anyway, the fried chicken is very tasty. Although it is deep fried, but it does not feel greasy and the chicken meat rather tender and moist too. I love their chilli, it is a must have with my rice, the chicken and basically everything. My hubby said his set is good as well, so people who love prawns may want to try the udang penyet. The portion is quite alright, I was full after my meal. I will definitely come back to try other dishes. I think it is around $7.90 for my set.

Simply great taste of well known Ayam Penyet.Great sambal. I simply love it.The service is great, i could even ask for extra "kremes" for ayam penyet. But the queue is quite long sometimes, so it might be hard if there is more than four of you.The prices are a bit high, but it is simply worth it.

I chose to eat Lele penyet which is smashed catfish while my friend had ayam penyet, smashed chicken rice both meals cost $6.90. Lele penyet was really palatable and yummy. The skin of the fish was very crispy and not too oily while the meat is tender and moist. The crisps atop the fish made the rice tasted much more flavoursome when eaten together with the chilli.
The sambal chilli was really spicy, if you're not a fan of chilli please eat it at a small amount. Other than the fish, the meal also had fried beancurd and fried tempah. The fried beancurd was normal, nothing much to rave about and I prefer tempah to be stir fried instead of deep-fried.

We ordered a rose soda, $2.40, as well, it tasted like bandung and was not too sweet. After a spicy meal, a cold drink really does the trick to cool down my burning mouth.

The food was very yummy and was filling too. I will definitely make another trip to ayam penyet ria to eat the food again

Fried chicken is always the signature dish from this stall. There is always super long queue outside this stall and I will normally take around fifteen to twenty minutes before I manage to buy my favourite deep fried chicken set. The chicken meat is very tender and juicy and the portion is also very generous too. THe price is very reasonable and best to eat with their fragrant plain rice too.

Brought a set meal of the deep fried pomfret and the deep fried enoki mushroom. Firstly, the pomfret was well prepared and cooked. I love ayam penyet, the chicken is always very big pieces and fried till crispy and fragrant. The small pieces of crispy crust taste really good too. Although it is fried, it does not taste oily at all. The tempeh taste good too, it is a dried version of bean curd. Their chilli is a a little of those sweet and spicy type, if you are able to eat spicy food, do request for more chilli. It goes really well with the chicken, and rice.

The chicken meat here is very juicy and tender, which the chicken skin has been deep fried till really crispy and not too oily. Like the small little crispy crust on the chicken skins which is very fragrant. Those who cannot really take too spicy chilli should not take the risk to try their chilly sauce which is very spicy, but still is very tasty and goes really well with the chicken meat. Here is a popular and crowded place for ayam penyet. They have good tempeh and gado gado. Remember to get more chilli from the little counter because it is the highlight of the meal. Nice balachan chilli, I gobbled down so much rice because the chilli made it so tasty. The shop is a bit small and the tables are arranged very close together. Not suitable for prams. Generally, the food is served quickly, so it is a good place for quick lunch or dinner.

Ayam Penyet Ria serves really delicious and cheap food. My favourite would be the fried chicken and rice, and the fried tau hu. They are well fried at the right temperature which enhances the taste. An average meal would costs around $10 - $15 per person, depending on the number of dishes ordered. I would recommend this place.

I knock off early today and decided to go Jurong Point to wait for my hubby to knock off as he is working around that area. We have no idea where to dine our dinner but there was a long queue a Ayam Penyet and we decided to give it a try. While we are waiting for our seats, the waiter give us an order chit to order our dishes first. We did not wait too long and we got our seats. Overall the food not too bad.

their desserts are also a thumbs up. very fastening cos of the sugar coloured ice kachang sauce and coconut milk, but it is definitely worth the calories!

an ideal place to eat yummy malay food!

When I chance upon Ayam Penyet Ria at Jurong Point, iw as pretty excited cos its nearer to home.
Decided to try a different dish this time and so I tried the Pece Lele Penyet.
It’s basically smashed catfish.

Seriously, it does not look appetizing at all. It was really huge though.
Even my friends were scared of how it looked.
Granted, the catfish was not exactly nice-looking afterall, it doesn’t help if it’s smashed!

However, it tasted reaaaaally good!
The meat is somehow moist but does not have those fishy smell.
It was fried just right and it was accompanied with Tahu & tempe and the delicious Sambal Belacan.

I think I prefer the Pece Lele than the Ayam Penyet.

Try it when you are there next time!
