Introduction
Previously known as Baker’s Inn, Bakerzin started out in 1998 as a modest patisserie located off Sembawang Road, Singapore, dealing with wholesale orders and supplying French bread and pastries to restaurants and hotels. During this time, founder of Bakerzin, Daniel Tay, and his team of passionate bakers began experimenting and conjuring new and indulgent creations. As word spread, Bakerzin steadily gained a reputation in the industry as not just an authentic French bakery but one with an excellent selection of scrumptious sweets on its order list. continue reading

It was a saturday and yes.. I had to wait in line for a starking 25min at vivocity. This cake was a real eye pleaser on the menu and on the plate. It's a rather big slice the wow factor in this cake is relly the plump alcohol soaked cherries.. and they aren't stingy with these I think I had a cool 3-4 cherries in a slice. But set back will be the thick layer of whipped cream.. mousse was ok.. not too rich in chocolate either. Sponge as always airy and fluffy.. If u love cream.. go for it! continue reading

Tiramisu Cafecinno - Wow this was very creative! It my first time having Tiramisu with Coffee, they complemented so well! The aroma was so great with cocoa powder atop! Addicted to this.. Must Order!!!Grilled Barramundi - I never expected that Bakerzin can cook such a nice grilled barramundi! The exterior skin was very very crispy and the creamy sauce was fantastic!!! I wish they can put more sauce... The meat was a tad not tender enough otherwise it will be perfect! Thumbs up for this dish!Mango-Passion Souffle - Served with homemade chocolate ice-cream. The sourness of the mango-passion souffle was quite mild so not to worry, it has a refreshing taste with good quality chocolate ice-cream. The souffle was quite soft but the top texture was a tad rough, not as smooth as other souffles that i've tried before... Still need some improvements. But overall this dessert still tasted quite nice! Note: Baking time for 15mins.Food & dessert quality were around slightly above average quality. But the main course selection was quite limited as i don't like pasta/burgers. So will only come back again to have the barramundi and try their other desserts again! Bakerzin definitely worth a revisit! For full review and photos, please visit:http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2014/08/bakerzin-at-vivo-city-1-harbourfront.html continue reading

Bought bakerzin macarons for my boyfriend on his birthday and we really quite like both the taste and the packaging. It isn't very expensive too ( 1 for $2) and our favorite flavor is strawberry shorkcake! the flavor is very rich and it isn't too sweet. some of the other flavor that we find it not bad too are salted caramel, mocha, green tea. I find these macarons are quite suitable to give someone on their birthday instead of giving them cake instead. continue reading

Enjoyed a slow dinner by myself and ordered my usual choice - seafood linguine. The menu said "with a touch of spice" so I asked for more spice in mine.Food came relatively fast and still piping hot. Good! Their version has cherry tomatoes in it so there's a sweetness yet tanginess blend. Nice. Seafood is also fresh so that's good. Unfortunately, my 'spicier' request was not spicy at all! Would have enjoyed it more if it's spicer I reckon. All in all a good meal and would return again. continue reading

Happy Mid Autumn Festival to all. I am so lucky to be one of the Winners of the Bakerzin Mooncakes for the Mid Autumn Festival Contest hosted by Openrice. I collected my prize from Bakerzin at Harbourfront and the prize consist of 2 Classic Premium Egg Yolk and 2 Classic Melon Seed Mooncake.I am so in love with the mooncake bag by bakerzin. It's kind of leather bag with logo embedded on it and the best thing is they have many other nice colours and designs for you to choose from. The mooncakes are packed in a box of 4, the box is quite practical as the container can be recycled for other purposes.Apart from the nice bag and practical container, the mooncake by Bakerzin is nice too. This is the Classic Premium Egg Yolk mooncake, the lotus paste filling is nice and not too sweet. The salted egg yolk goes well with the lotus paste, great taste. I finished half of it at one go.This is the Classic Melon Seed Mooncake, the lotus paste filling is nice with bits of melon seeds in it. The melon seeds enhance the taste of the lotus paste filling when you bite on the melon seeds. The filling of the Classic Premium Egg Yolk mooncake, generous filling of lotus paste and the salted egg yolk is huge. The filling of the Classic Melon Seed Mooncake, generous filling of lotus paste and melon seeds.Bakerzin at Habourfront looks cozy, I shall revisit next time to try their dishes.Once again, million thanks to OpenRice for the contest and I am so lucky to be one of the winners, thanks. continue reading
