Mushroom & Tiger Prawns

Who will imagine that pancake can pair with savories? The tiger prawns were big and succulent and the portobello mushroom was juicy with 'char da' cheese sprinkled on top.Thumbs up for this.

All these for just $39, no separate GST or service charge! Really worth it!

The both of us had the BFF special, which included 2 drinks, 2 pancakes dishes (savoury or sweet) and 1 side to share. For drinks we ordered the Cookies & Cream ice blended and the Pure Caramel Coffee Blended; Both decent but a tad watered down. And I guess you can't really go wrong with drinks?

Honey Baked Chicken Wings - I'm sorry to say this but the wings suffered 50% burns on the outside but remained relatively unscathed on the inside. Read. Relatively raw with blood still seeping through. Very badly executed and we gave up after the 2nd wing.

Fish Flaps - This was essentially deep fried fish fillet served with tartar sauce, coleslaw and 2 flapjacks. The fish fillets had way too much flour and very little fish but was still palatable though you would probably need a lot of tartar sauce to down that much flour. Coleslaw was a tad too creamy, rich and sourish for my liking. On a slightly more positive note, the pancakes were quite fluffy (though smallish) and well cooked, but the accompanying "maple syrup" tasted like the hotcake syrup that MacDonalds uses. That's definitely not maple syrup for sure.

Banana Bonanza - 2 pieces of pancakes topped with sliced bananas, vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and walnuts. Average tasting though the pancakes were quite fluffy. The bananas could have been grilled to achieve a certain degree of caramelisation whilst the ice cream was evidently from the tub as I could find ice chips in it. The sole saving grace was the relatively generous serving of walnuts.

The BFF special cost the both of us $42.80, which was honestly a rip off for the quality of food. Please heed my advise on this place; Look past the cute facade and name and give this place a miss.

Came back to Batter Fluffy Flaps for their desserts as i was too full after eating the main during my the previous visit. I've ordered smiley sundae, which looks so cute! Totally love the presentation of it. This dessert consists of 4 smiley pancakes, marsh mallows, strawberries topped up with chocolate sauce. Despite the cute presentation, taste wise it is average, nothing fantastic about it. I share this with a friend and each of us paid $6.

My main, 2 pancakes with scrambled eggs, hotdogs, bacon and ham. The sides are nice, specially the hotdog. However, nothing is fantastic about the pancakes. I find that even Mcdonald pancakes are nicer.

With the pancakes, it was totally a whole new taste which I kind of enjoyed it.
The bacon strips are flavourful and did not contain too much fat which is good.
However, the syrup was a little disappointing though.
Also, although they specialize in pancakes, but their pancakes were not exactly fluffy, honestly speaking.
But still, the cozy and youthful ambience made up for the average food, so overall not bad.

I was in the east coast area and was looking for a place to have a drink, and I stopped by Batter Fluffy Flaps as I have tried their pancakes on 2 occasions. I ordered the cappuccino which costs around $5. It was quite a large cup compared to other coffee joints, and the coffee was rich and creamy - steamed milk taste was quite distinct, and the coffee tastes slightly bitter.

Having tried their strawberry cheesecake pancake, I wanted to try the Smiley Sundae as I came across a picture of it in a magazine (too cute to resist). The presentation, as expected, is irresistible, with 4 pieces of small smiley pancakes, marshmallows, pieces of strawberries, chocolate sauce topped with granola bits. It costs $10.90. But actually that's about it, nice to look at, but taste wise, you can probably make it yourself.

Cute little place selling pancakes. Tried the strawberry cheesecake one; although the presentation has much to improve on, and the strawberry sauce looks a bit artificial, the whole combination actually tastes decent. However, nothing special and may not worth a trip specially to try their pancakes. But it would be a nice place for a group of friends to hang out; the portion is enough for 2 to share as well. Nice ambience and decor which adds to the dining experience.

BFF Special (S$39.00) which consists of 2 pancake meals, a side and 2 beverages, is an ideal promotion set if you're eating with a friend or two (we shared it among four for a light lunch). Prices listed below is as of individual pricing, without discounts nor promotions.

Truffle Ruffles (S$8.00) - Crispy fries tossed with truffle oil, garnished with a little grated Parmesan and parsley. This side dish tasted not much different from your usual fries, as with the faint, or rather - no trace of truffle aroma.

Who says pancakes are only for breakfast? We had the Breakfast Mambo Combo (S$14.00) at 'bout 4pm, it comes in a set of ham, bacon, poached eggs, chipolata sausages, together with two fluffly pancakes. Aside from the regular sidekicks, I expected the pancakes to be hot from the pan, but it was only lukewarm. Nevertheless, they are still properly moist and soft on the inside, and it forms back to shape slowly when gently pressed using a finger.

For me, I prefer good ol pancakes paired with cold ice cream, it's like an unbeatable and fail-proof dessert that would melt anyone's heart, such as their Strawberry Cheesecake Flakes (S$12.00). Two pancakes layered with house-made cream cheese and strawberries, sprinkled with buttered digestive crumbs and, topped with a scoop of strawberry ice cream and sauce.

Besides all the pancake sets, you can create your own pancakes (S$14.00), by choosing a selection of flaps, fruits, toppings, ice cream and sauces. They do serve home-made blends and alcoholic beverages as well.

To be awfully honest, Batter Fluffy Flaps does have a long way to go if they still stay true to "giving the best pancake experience", but if you happened to be there (maybe after a cycle at the nearby East Coast Park), why not give them a try too? The cafe offering the same concept as Strictly Pancakes, is really quiet on a Friday afternoon. I like that the interior of the cafe makes me feel cosy and at home. Newspaper and magazines were laid out for customers and they have a tiny corner selling cute notebooks too.

The menu doesn't really wow you but we were hungry and there's no gst here anyway. The boy ordered the Breakfast Set since he really not open to the idea of eating pancakes with butter prawn or meat for that matter, unlike me. And i just ordered pancakes with the butter king prawns.

Wasn't really that great for me, but the boy enjoyed his since his was the more safer option. Mine was pretty disappointing. Didnt expect my King prawns to be puny. I loved how they added strawberry instead of the normal lemon into their free flow of plain water. That was refreshing!

I wont say i will never come here again, but i'll try the sweet selections of pancakes.
