Sushi Set ($18++)
The set had assorted sushi, served with assorted tempura, chawamushi, green salad, udon soup, miso soup and sliced fruit. The assorted sushi has salmon sushi, tuna sushi, ebi sushi, tako sushi, tamago sushi, inari sushi and kani maki. Tasted not bad. I like that there was tempura crumbles in the udon soup.

Donburi Set ($18++)
Similar to the above set, the set was served with assorted tempura, chawamushi, green salad, miso soup and sliced fruit. For the Donburi, it was deep fried pork cutlet, topped with egg and onions in sweet sauce. As it was served on stove to keep warm, beware of the sauce drying up. The pork cutlet was quite tender and flavourful.
Overall the food was not bad and served quite fast. The place was packed, maybe to a seminar nearby.

Next, we had the Gold Dragon Roll (SGD$16.00) - consisting of crab meat, cucumber dices, eel on the outside and crispy tempura batter flakes on top. Besides looking good in appearance, this combination of ingredients brought about varied textures and delicious flavors burst that were a lovely treat to the tongue for sure.

Following that, we had the Golden Spider Roll (SGD$16.00) comprising of deep fried soft shell crab and avocado. While the soft shell crab was crispy and went well with the buttery-flavored avocado cubes, we thought that the dark-orangey gravy was too sweet. It softened the crab very quickly, as well as steers the taste of the entire sushi roll the wrong way.

We ordered five types of different sushi such as Soba Roll and the Aburi Salmon Belly ($11 I think) sushi. The size of each piece of sushi was relatively big with generous filling. The quality was really good too. None failed to meet my expectations. I felt satisfied and full already after eating just six pieces of sushi.

The Soba Roll was something new, whereby soba noodles were rolled up with seaweed and served chilled. They served complimentary a small bowl of porridge as appetizer beforehand and I think the taste was plain but yet palatable enough.

Overall, I think this is a really good place for Japanese food. Go during noontime for their Bento sets as the dinner sets are too limited. Service was acceptable. I would definitely head back the restaurant for their other types of sushi.

Bay Sushi at Marina Bay Sands offers a wide range of sushi & rolls selection served in a modern luxury setting. The interior fashioned contemporary design, classy with good ambiance. Diners can either sit at the bar to enjoy both hot and cold dishes (sushi & rolls) on coloured plates placed on the conveyor belt. Or order the set meal like we did on our visit. Each set costs $55, and it's not inclusive drinks. I have a cup of hot green tea ($1.90), and totally indulge in the aromatic tea scent. T

The set meal kicked off with a series of appetizer. Agedashi Tofu is a popular Japanese appetizer dish where deep-fried tofu is steeped in a sweet sauce made of dashi (fish stock), soy sauce and mirin. It's just flavourful and tasty.

Avocado salad was served next. This dish is refreshing, and I like the appetizing sauce very much. Perhaps it's the Japanese sweet vinegar.

Chawanmushi is silkily smooth, and topped with a big fresh prawn and Japanese fish cake. Simple and nice.

Miso soup is slightly salty for me, but the flavour is good though.

For main dish, we get to choose from 4 options. Set B Orange Chicken is very well done. The crispiness of the chicken reminds me of Chicken Karage, but with the citrus orange sauce that gives a fresh appetizing flavour (and cancel off the greasiness of the deep-fried).

Set D Gold Dragon Roll on the other hand is pretty in terms of presentation, and huge in portion. I'm impressed by the layers of flavours it offers to my pellet. Tempura flakes are very crispy, one will get to taste the terriyaki eel inside, as well as fresh crab meat, thin sliced avocado etc. Comprehensive yet delightfully yummy.

Dessert of the set is Cheesecake. Well, nothing too spectacular about its taste, but it's a simple good ending for a satisfying meal.
