BBQ Chicken is a Korean chain which known for its chicken dishes made with 100% olive oil. Over the years it is has expanded to a number of outlets in Singapore. At Northpoint shopping centre, there is an outlet too. Here it is an open concept restaurant. The restaurant is simply in red and white.Cutlery is served in a box after we are showed to our table. Water is served here free of charge. The staffs here are quite quiet. But are also quite helpful when needed.Korean Traditional Charbroiled ($16.50++)Seasoned and grilled thigh marinated with special Korean style herbs.Since it is a Korean restaurant, we order a chicken meal dish to try. It is served with 2 side dishes which I select shrimp olive rice and cheese stick. The rice is tossed with 100% olive oil, parsley, garlic, onions, seasoning, topped with a shrimp and tastes quite light. The cheese stick is not the flowing with melted cheese type which I prefer. Instead it is a hard cheese block inside. The grilled chicken is flavourful but a bit dry inside and oily outside.Sous-Vide Chicken Nasi Goreng ($9.50++)Nasi goring with tender grilled sous-vide chicken in fusion style. For a simple dish of fried rice, efforts has been to make it look so colourful. A side dish of crunchy prickled vegetables hanging by the bowl, opens up my appetite. The sliced chicken is surprising quite juicy and soft here.Spoon Pizza (Sous-Vide Chicken) ($17.50++)Secret dough recipe of pizza topped with sous-vide chicken steak. Here the restaurant has quite a unique way of serving pizza that is so soft that it can easily cut through with just a spoon. The base of pizza is so soft like a pancake. The pizza is quite cheesy and also surprising sweet as if it is coated with a layer of maple syrup. There is also traces of mashed potatoes inside the pizza. The chicken topping is also quite juicy here. Total this meal costs $51.20. Overall quite a tasty and filling meal. Best of all the place is not crowded. continue reading

I treated myself to the Mushroom Chicken Steak ($14.90), was able to choose 2 side dishes, I got the mashed potato and fries but there's also colesaw and olive oil to choose from. The large chicken thigh was grilled perfectly and had absorbed all the rich mushroom flavour from the sauce. I love everything about this dish, however, I do feel that it's a bit overpriced and could be cheaper by at least $3-5. Overall, I enjoyed myself in a casual relaxing environment with basic service and great food. Would return more often if they have their price lowered in the future. continue reading

Ginseng chicken (can choose 2 sides)The fried batter was really crispy and the chicken was quite tender but I could not really taste the ginseng taste. It was very faint. Personally I do not like ginseng but I decided to be a little more adventurous and was kinda thankful that the ginseng flavour was not overpowering. Overall good! Service was average and the ambience is casual. continue reading

BBQ Chicken Daily Set Meal can be considered a budget restaurant should you have cravings for Western food. They have 5 choices for their set meal which comes with a main course and a drink for $12.90 nett. The environment wise is rather decent with booth seats. The service crew at Northpoint is a bit slow perhaps due to the lack of manpower. We have choosen this 2 sets for dinner. Mushroom Chicken Steak with french fries and coleslaw for side dish. The chicken steak sauce is alright, blends well with the chicken. However, the chicken skin is rather fattening. Threw away some of it. Roasted Cajun Half Chicken with fries and coleslaw too. With a half chicken in quite a small plate, I will suggest diners to request for another bowl to separate out the chicken for better enjoyment of food. continue reading
