This Simple but yet surprisingly addictive fish soup that exist in whampoa Makan Place. This Fish soup always have a long queue, but the taste is definitely worth the wait. The secret to their long term success is the broth. In side the broth is 8 hours worth of stewing the fish bones. Not only is the soup heavenly, the choice of fish that the shop uses is both yummy and value for money. For $4 you get a bowl of heaven served with yummy slices of fried fish with the surprising crispy fish bones

If you want to try this stall, do not come after 2pm as the fish soup is while stock last and usually does not last till 1.30pm

Somehow I like the combination of Soup with Yee Mee, original saltiness of the noodles were spreading into fresh fish soup. The essence of the soup was rich, thinly slices of fish were cooked at right texture. Veggies added were not excessive, savoury with the fried onion on top. My serving was $3.50, definitely satisfying portion.

Rainy days are your best friend especially when it comes to visiting those popular hawker centre stalls coz there will be less of a crowd then. I pop by this place on such a day and got my order taken right away, cheers to no queue! I chose the double fish soup for $4 and plain rice for 50cents. Condiments given were the usual small chili padi and soy sauce. Ingredients include sliced fish, fried fish, tomato, chy sim, cabbage and fried shallots. Notice there is no toufu and ginger which I like.

think its very much enhanced by chopped anchovies which can be seen on the bowl base after you finish all the soup. I have to give it thumbs up not just to the soup taste but also to the thickness of the white fish given. It’s probably the thickest slice I’ve had for hawker standard.
By the way I think their prices will be increasing to $4 minimum from September onwards.

I'm no expert on Fish Head Bee Hoon, as it's not one of my usual hawker choices. However, after trying this one from Beach Road Fish Head Bee Hoon, it has become a favourite! I love the light, milky, fish stock soup, as well as the slippery, thick rice vermicelli. The meat from the fish's head is cooked to perfection, stiff enough to grasp with chopsticks, but not tough or rubbery, and it falls apart nicely when eaten. This particular stall is awesome, because there is a generous serving of sliced fish. It is infuriating when you get lots of noodle, soup and vegetable, but just two pieces of meat. There's another version in which the fish is fried in batter, which I'm eager to try – an excuse for another visit!

Was supposed to be here for my usual ban mian fix at China Whampoa Ban Mian stall when I saw the long queue at this stall. Operating with just 2 person, the guy chef will cook up the dish and the lady will handle order taking and preparing the trays. Yes its self-service but I was not disappointed at all since it’s well worth the 20min wait. Ordered the $4 mixed fish version (sliced fish and fried fish mixed) and had rice (30cents) instead of the thick white bee hoon. The soup came with toufu,

The soup came with toufu, seweed, half a tomato, fried fish, sliced fish, chai sim and fried onions. It was amazingly sweet, it’s not just the fact milk was added, I think the soup base itself is well sweetened, hopefully it’s not becoz of MSG. I would say the fish is average though but the soup taste more than make up for it. I finished the entire bowl and could taste bits of crispy bits which I suspect they added the fried bits for fried fish head to it. Initially I thought it was anchovies/ikan bilis but on close inspection I think it’s the former. Definitely return here again for this nice hawker food.

The best point of this special fried fish bee hoon is the mouthwatering soup which contains the irresistible sweetness of evaporated milk blended so perfectly with the delightful fragrance of fish.

Certainly one of the best fried fish bee hoon I have tasted in Singapore, I will definitely come back for more. However, I have to wait till I free, because it is located at whampoa, quite far away from me.

The freshness of the fish is the most important part when comes to eating fish bee hoon soup. At Whampoa Drive Food Centre, this stall sells various types of fish soup and the price range from $3.50, with an additional 20 cents for a takeaway. The service there is fantastic, they will take the initiative to pack your bee hoon in one plastic bowl together with the sliced fish and the soup in a separate container. For $3.50, you will get a generous portion of special fried fish or sliced fish, perf

For $3.50, you will get a generous portion of special fried fish or sliced fish, perfect blended fish soup, optional with evaporated milk or not and bee hoon. The soup can also be served without noodles or rice. The best part about it is that it has no fishy smell in the soup but a nice fragrant of garlic. Best for a nutritious and light meal.
