If you ever travelled on East Coast Road, I'm sure you would have came across Beach Road Prawn Noodle House LLP near Siglap. This prawn mee stall has mastered the art of pulling the crowd. Nevermind that the area has no decent parking facilities, people just can't seem to stop appearing.

They are crowded and famous for reasons I don't know and the fact that parking your car here is extremely difficult just makes the strong crowd almost spooky.

My friend (Mr. Roderick Tan of M/s RK Project & Maintenance Services) and I ordered 2 bowls of noodles and 2 glasses of barley. Although they got many staffs, we still need to wait for around 15 minutes (Super long to get our food, so call to order!).

The bigger sized prawns sliced in half got 4 pieces in each bowl. At $8.80 per bowl, it should be considered as reasonable.

After eating, I like the prawn mee with soup because the mee is moist and is evenly cooked. Since this is a great one meal dish, so I decided to bring my girlfriend on Sunday morning.

Conclusion: This is a very popular big prawn noodles stall and the crowd is forever strong due to it's very good prawn mee, but yet it didn't charm me because parking is difficult in that area so only go if you live nearby. Too much effort for parking woes to be worth it. Since they are located at the heart of Siglap/Katong, I'm just guessing that this could be a rich man's prawn mee.

I love their soup! Especially when its served piping hot. My usual would be the pork ribs and prawn mee hoon soup. The price is quite steep for coffee shop settings but nevertheless, it is always crowded, especially weekends. Their prawns are really fresh and their ribs are not too fatty or oily. Medium: $8.80Jumbo: $10.80

The never ever queue, there will always be queue forming.

There's another stall which sell Ngoh Hiang and most of the tables had order the Ngoh Hiang as well, after all people came all the way here... Or I shall say it is like a tibits for most of us before the prawn noodle arrive.

The Ngoh Hiang here is quite special, there's this pink colour looking sauce which is sticky and tasted sweet. The other sauce tasted a bit spicy and it definitely make the Ngoh Hiang taste good!

For $5.80 you get a prawn mee of 2 prawns rightfully. You can opt to top up the noodle for $0.20. I would say you are paying more for the delicious nutrition soup rather than the prawn itself. The soup is just simply heavenly. Not only that, you don't have to get your hands dirty to peel off the shell. The shell can be easily remove with the aid of the chopstick, one just have to pull and the shell is detach in one piece.

The noodles with chilli was a tad disappointing as their noodles were not as springy as expected to be and the chilli lacked the kick. However, the standard was bearable but honestly, not worth my time.

Did I forget to mention that though this big place for 2 stalls only excluding a drink stall lacks ventilation, so get seats nearer to the entrance for a cooler meal time

Even though this place does not have air-condtioner installed, there is always a crowd every hour of the day. I do find that the soup is kind of oily so I will always tell their staff the leave the "onion oil" out. Other than the prawn mee, I also like the Ngor Hiang which are really crispy. Beware if you drive and remember to display the parking coupon as the carpark attendents are really "on the ball".

This outlet has been onsite for as long as almost 10 years and its operation has grown from a humble one unit to the current two units and most probably....expanding!

The array of on the selection is highly diverse and patrons are able to make their own selections that had been fine tune to accomodate any form of combination having sides like spare ribs or pig's tail to compliment on the soupy elixir!

At $8.80 per bowl...this upsize order may possibly be the best that one may lay its taste bud on in Singapore. The noodles are well cooked with zero touch of preservative. The pig's tail and spare ribs are immersed and stewed to perfection and with no strain of seizure upon contact. Lastly on the soup base that is so flavourful with the combustion of spices, condiments and ingredients to form the heavenly equation!

Highly recommended to all prawn mee lovers! You will fall deely in love with it. However do expect great crowds on weekends and lunch time if you wish to pay a visit!

Ups!

This is so far one of the best prawn noodles i've ever eaten. It was my first visit here. It was a table of 6 and each of us had $8.80 worth of prawn mee! My bowl came with a generous serving of my favourite yellow noodles, prawns (like 3 big pieces?) and pork meat. The soup is tasty and unpretenious. As usual, i will eat with some chilli padi and the gastronomic experience of sweating it out with the whole bowl of prawn mee is just so 'shiok'!! There is always a long queue infront the counter a
