Best curry rice ever! I've always have a craving for this even during late nights. Their rice are drenched in thick gooey black sauce and curry sauce. I regretted not mixing the curry sauce, only had the black sauce. After a few mouthful of rice, i went back to ask for some curry sauce to be added onto my plate of half eaten rice. Trust me, even if you don't take spicy food, you really got to mix both sauces! I had their cabbage and pork chop. YUMMY! The place is very run down i feel. But food i

Don't ever be mistaken by this plate of ugly messy gooey rice. It maybe one of the best Hainanese curry rice you ever eaten. Trust me, it's damn good. This is called "scissor-cut curry rice" because the dishes were cut up into bite-sized pieces with a large pair of traditional scissors. The popular dishes were their braised pork, pork/chicken chop, curry chicken and stewed cabbage. To get here, alight at Farrer Park MRT station. Take a 5 minutes walk down Kitchener Road. Went there for dinner with friend. This was the second time I've been there. I ordered Braised Cabbage, Braised Meat and Chicken Cutlet with some curry. Personally, I think the curry was too much for me and I would be rather have more spicy curry. Overall, the food was average.

The interesting point about the curry rice here compared to the others is that you will be ensured that your plate of rice will be flooded with their thick fragrant curry gravy, which your every mouthful of the rice is so tasty and delicious. Portion served here is also quite generous as well.

This stall is very famous for its assorted dishes paired with its very tasty curry drenched rice. There are some people who do not want the curry which I feel is pointless ordering from here since their signature is the curry! The chicken meat is especially tender and soft and the cabbage is also cooked until it is soft and you can almost slurp it.

This stall has been around since I am a teenager. The food still tastes the same after all these years. This curry rice stall is authentic Hai Nan style curry rice where the curry gravy is sticky and they will just overflow your plate of rice with it, but the best thing is it tastes good. Though I always thought that they always give a small portion of the pork chop. i love their eggs too. These day, they even have chicken chop (during my younger days, I remember that they don have chicken).

This stall got their name due to the way the owner cuts the items u ordered with a scissors. He cuts it very fast and they give us generous amount of gravy! It's like Mixed Vegetable Rice where u orders the sides to go with the rice and curry! Thumbs up for the generous serving! Nevertheless, don’t takeaways the rice, the curry will make the rice very soggy. Dine in is the favorable choice.

Yum Yum Yum! This stall serves the best curry rice ever! If you are a fan of some rather thick and sticky curry sauce (which is not that spicy really), this is a stall you should try on! I love their curry cabbage the best, really nice to chew and freshly cooked. The queue is always there during peak hours, at times I had to queue 20 minutes!

Packet Beach Road Scissor-Cut Curry Rice back to office for dinner! Rice with braised pork, cabbage and pork chop drenched in their specially made curry and black sauce. It is SUPER DELICIOUS! Doesn't look appealing but trust me on this! It is fabulous! I never get sick of eating these! Only downside is their stall is uber run down and dirty.... Hmmm... Hope they gonna revamp soon!

A hot spot for late nighters, this place is packed in the afternoon too. Even with the crowd, rest assured that seats are still available as the seating area is really huge; the whole coffee shop belongs to them. The curry is the best ; one of the better curry scissors rice I have ate.

That's a feast!

We had the fried prawns, pork chops, curry chicken, fish cake, cabbage and egg. I will say the must have is the curry chicken, the chicken meat is very tender and soft and the curry is not spicy at all. The pork chops this turn round was overly cooked that it was slightly burnt.

The highlight is:

Although this place is not well renovated, look kind of shabby, they do serve quality food! What so special here is their curry. Their curry is a combination of 3 sauces, the staff will usually scoop sauce A den a little bit of sauce B then the finally scoop of sauce C - there you have your perfect curry!
At times it keep me wondering, why must they have 3 different pots of sauces and why not mix everything in and have 1 pot? There must be a rational behind and I believe this makes their curry so addicted.

They give you good serving of dishes you choose and I would say the ratio of dishes : rice is 2 : 1. And for the price of 4 dishes it is $3.90 - cheap and nice! The colour of the dishes might not be appealing but it is damn nice too. Though I found difficulty distinguishing what is what because the dishes look brownish in colour and is somewhat similar. Still, no worries there's a board at the left that indicate what they serve.

Happened to be there after lunch on Sunday. Wanted to try this famous curry rice but there is no room in my stomach to accommodate it. So, i decided to take away some dishes for dinner later.

I went ahead to order the fried chicken cutlet, braised cabbage and braised meat. They packed it nicely together with a packet of curry sauce. The portion for 2 person was more than enough with quite a big packet of curry sauce to go along with dishes and rice. I enjoyed every dish particularly loved the braised meat. It was very well-braised and the fatty part of the pork belly was really soft and nice exactly how i like it to be.

It's definitely a good idea to take away their dishes for dinner at home, it is so affordable and good. Strongly recommended.
