Introduction
The original and famous Bear Paw Buns from Taiwan are here in town! Fusing Taiwanese steamed buns with Japanese nuances, melding eastern flavours into the western burger world. Fluffier than your usual Kong Ba Bao, each steamed bun bears an iconic paw print complete with 5 claws, representing the Formosan Black Bear, Taiwan's national animal. The customized burger: Each burger comes with your choice of meat - either Karaage Crispy Chicken or Oishii Fish Fillet - and unlike most burger joints, you actually get to choose your desired flavour of bun! There's the more staid options of Original Milk, Brown Sugar or Whole Grain, and Squid Ink, Yam or Japanese Curry for the adventurous. Top it off with one of six savoury sauces that would just be that finishing touch on your burger. continue reading

Surprised to see Bear Bites at Bugis Junction food hall as I passed by, I was finding bite-size stuff. First stop in Singapore was at Orchard Scape, if I was not mistaken. Cross over Taiwan and Japanese fusion food, would you really bear to eat such adorable bun? Rather healthy bun with steaming instead of frying or baking, softness was awesome. Interestingly unique way to pick your favourite bun, there were plenty choices available. Meat was the main concern, I picked Karaage Chicken as usual. Sweetly & Spicy Thai sauce selected to make a highlight and most importantly, it was tasty. Ala carte order price started from $4.80, it was something more than a fast food. continue reading

Happy that they open a outlet at Bugis. As the one at scape is outdoor and do not have any shelter. Whereas at Bugis junction it is indoor, and with aircon. Had Milk bear paw with tar tar sauce , brown sugar bear paw with mushroom sauce and yam bear paw with Thai spicy sauce. My favourite is their thai spicy sauce, sweet and slightly spicy. As for the paw itself, the milk paw is the softest. Will be back for more! continue reading
